......both come from the same division! They have always come from the East and West, but they don't have to. The MAC West could get both. Let's beat CMU!

That's a great point! I really don't see any team in the East that is standing out this year. Go Falcons!

That just adds to the importance of the Marshall game which already became critical after we lost last week. Awesome way to rebound against Temple on the road though!

I think Marshall is about to go on a major roll.

I think the MAC office will secretly try to screw them if it is within their power.

(It may not be. The bowls like Marshall.)

All the more reason to win the rest of our MAC games, including the Marshall contest! Why in the world would or should the MAC try to help Marshall get to another bowl game at this point? I know there are a lot of answers to that question, but it could prove to be a much better situation for the future of the MAC if Marshall does not go to a bowl game this year.

I agree, Marshall is about to go on a roll. I hope we stop it when the Herd comes to BG.

I wouldn't call it a roll, but they do have some easy MAC teams coming up before they play us. While they could win their next 5 games before playing us, I honestly think Akron or another MAC team could kill their momentum in there. We will have to wait and see though...

I think Miami might have something to say about that, but its good to hope.

miami is in our position right now, they lost early to the other power in the division, they need marshall to get beat twice too. Lucky for them Marshall seems to trip up at some point, and then they must play at the Doyt, wish we had that kind of ally in NIU's schedule.

If BG wins out, which would include wins over UT and Marshall, AND NIU wins out, I could see NIU getting the GMAC Bowl bid and if they also win the MACC game, then BG getting the Motor City Bowl bid. The GMAC Bowl has historically taken the best MAC regular season team because they extend the invite prior to the MACC game. If NIU wins out, they are clearly the best team in the MAC (and probably ranked in the top-25) - they go to the GMAC. The Motor City then has to decide if they want Marshall or BG (assuming Marshall plays NIU in the MACC). Why would the Motor City not want BG again? We showed last year we will bring a lot of people and in this scenario BG would clearly be the second best team in the conference. I would think that those in the MAC office would much prefer a team that will be in the league next year playing in the Motor City Bowl. If Marshall plays in a bowl game, the focus will be on them leaving. That is not what Mr. Chryst needs.

First things first, however, BG needs to beat CMU and every other team on the schedule. I also wouldn't mind seeing NIU slip to a lesser team and then to UT, setting up BG-UT at the Glass Bowl for the West Division title once again.
