Hey, its the least he could do right? Man, very stark contrast these BG and New Mexico's attendance in all major sports in football , mens & women's basketball . Dang 11,000 for ladies basketball there. There must not be much to do out there.TG1996 wrote:Don't know that I saw this here, but it covers alot of the points of interest of this board:

I can't blame him for leaving, he seems to have pretty valid reasons for going.

There's some stuff to do, but a lot of is for the tourist....not necessarily for poor college kids. They can't even get on facebook on campus computers, so I guess women's basketball is the way to go. I should ask my cousins, who are alumni of UNM, what college kids do in Albuquerque.falconboy wrote:Hey, its the least he could do right? My guess would be that college kids in Albuquerque do the same thing that college kids in Tucson do: drink and bitch about Albuquerque.Falconfliccbone wrote: I should ask my cousins, who are alumni of UNM, what college kids do in Albuquerque.

After reading the article, can you blame the guy for stepping off....the numbers don't lie. It really is sad on a side by side comparison of the two schools.
Not to mention the school UNM hosts basketball regionals for men and women all the time. Every now and again UNM finds it's football in a bowl game.
I think Krebs was great for the school and he will be sorely missed. It is a shame. I hope for the sake of BG that the community and it's alumni step up and show support. Can't help but think ESPN showing our big football games actually hurt attendance.
I am talking to my father in law right now to get up and see the UW game in Cleveland. He graduated in '69, two daughters in '92 and '96 and both his son in laws graduated from Ol BG. But looking at the schedule for football, I don't see how I will come up to watch Kent play at our home or Buffalo for that matter.
Have a good week everyone.

Always finish what you st
It is interesting that almost everyone thinks Krebs did a very good job while at BG, including myself, but if you look at it very objectively, and the teams records, it isn't so pretty.
1. hockey finished in LAST place
2. men's basketball had a losing season
3. football was "average" at best
4. men's soccer was horrible
5. both men's and women's golf were very average
6. track and x country are basically non existent against D-1 schools
The bright spots seem to be softball and women's soccer, but the overall performance of the athletic department on the field, in the past year or so was not exactly a winning prerformance.

I see your point. It seems like over the past couple years that our teams have been feast or famine. MAC championship or last place in a lot of sports. Not much mediocrity. Women's basketball should be lumped in with the bright spots, as well as women's tennis based on their early season performance.factman wrote:It is interesting that almost everyone thinks Krebs did a very good job while at BG, including myself, but if you look at it very objectively, and the teams records, it isn't so pretty.
