I apologize if this was already posted elsewhere and talked about and just I missed it, but has anyone heard what happened with Anthony Turner’s date in court? I thought I remembered it was reported he was to be in court on April 3rd or something. Just wondering if anyone knows how it went or what all happened?

Does this really need to be discussed any further?

Maybe, maybe not. I'm aware of the 15-page thread about the topic when it first came up, I was just wondering what happened with his appearance in court and if we could be without him longer than just the UW game.

The court date isn't until May and what happens in his punishment should have no bearing on what happens with his football duties. I have a feeling you will not even hear about what happens to Turner until the end of the summer.

If pot were legal as it should this would not even be an issue...dam shame, but rules are rules and i hope he recieves the same treatment as anyother person would get, and that the Univ football coaches and the University follow thier guidlines for this and dont over do it, or under do it.
and for cripes sake in the future guys dont smoke in public!!!!I know you cant be that stupid.

I'm with BGDrew on this one...frankly, Anthony Turner's legal issues are no concern of mine. We've been over all the philosphical angles on drug laws, responsibility to teammates and citzenship as a representative of the university. I can't think of anything we missed....

When does the kid get to deal with his problems without our scrutiny?

When he's not a scholarship athlete in a leadership position for a program we want to be clean.

So, being a football fan and a BG student or alumnus gives us a right to continually poke around in this kid's life? I don't think that's a tenable positon.

Actually-- not to be snarky-- but being US residents (or whatever, you know what I mean) gives us the right to investigate anything about his life that's public knowledge. Being football fans & BG students/alumni just gives us a reason to be interested.

That's not to say it's necessarily advisable.

Just throwing it out there.

Maybe we don't have the right to poke around in his business, which is my personal feeling on the matter, but maybe having it out in public and having us clamming about it is a good way to make sure it doesn't happen to him again.

No, I'm not saying that. My hope is that we will find out with his actions moving forward, and perhaps more importantly those actions of Coach Brandon, that he's an outstanding individual, a model player and a great representative for BG with a program that has accountability.

We cannot accept that type of behavior and condone it, in my opinion, or we could end up back where we were at the end of the Blackney era.

We will need to let it go at some point, perhaps once the punishment is doled out, but this situation deserves the scrutiny of the fan base. I'm not tryint to throw stones, it's a matter of understanding/discussing our expectations (alumni, students, fans etc..)of the program...in my opinion.
