Wonder why that would be? Was there supposed to be a NFL game in Detroit that Thursday, November 30th?

I have been told that if Detroit has a home game on Sunday, December 3rd, then the MACC Game will be on Thursday November 30th. If Detroit does not have a home game on Sunday, then the MACC Game will be on Sunday, December 3rd.

I wonder if they want to move it to a Sunday (12/3), but have to see if the NFL has the Lions at home that weekend first. Seems like an odd move, but maybe they think they can get more people there on a weekend, but not mess with a light football Saturday? Hmmm...

So it sounds like the policy of the MAC is to sacrifice TV audience for actual attendance at the MACC. That works for me, but I really wonder if ESPN would be cool with that. At first glance, I have to think ratings would be better on a Thursday night when we are about the only game on TV, instead of trying to compete with the NFL and other conference championships on Sunday for TV viewers.

I think ESPN is trying to slot some college football into its former Sunday night slot to compete with NBC's NFL cast. It also may have to do with the flexible NFL schedule.

Per MACBBS, this is official now. I guess having no Sunday night NFL games this year paved the way...at least I assume the game will be played at 7:30-ish.

I think it will help the crowd.
