Last night I printed off the Spring depth chart and roster. According to my fuzzy math, we have a grand total of 12 seniors and 14 juniors on this year's roster.
2006 SR Class:
Brandon Jones
Van Johnson
Will Myles
Ken Brantley
Terrel White
Devon Parks
John Lanning
Derrick Markray
Ruben Ruiz
Brad Williams
Jon Jakubowski
Thomas Smith
6 are listed as starters on the depth chart...although it appears Patrick Watson is really pushing Markray at RG for the starting gig. All but Parks and Ruiz are 5th yr SR's.
I counted 22 Sophomores and 33 RS Freshman...and 24 or so FR recruits reporting for summer drills. Roughly 79 of 105 players will have at least 3 years eligibility heading into the 2006 season.
Break out the Huggies.

Should be a heck of an interesting season.
GO FALCONS!!!

You're right. The Falcons are very, very young. I have modest expectations for 2006, but have already told Noah to expect a run for the MAC title in 2007!

You know you're old when you were in school the current players were still in two part form.
Rolaids, anyone?
I'm hoping for a 7 win season with these young 'uns. It should be a lot of fun at any rate!

And 2008 & 2009.

I still think the program is good enough for 6-8 wins this year.
RUIT,
Seeing some of these guys born in 1986-87 makes my head spin. I was a FR at BG when there were coming into the world....ugh.

Yeah, but when you were a Freshman at BG I had already been married for 6 years. So STFU!

FWIW, the ones born in 1986-87 will be the sophomores next year. Next year's freshmen are 1987-88 babies.

One of our highly regarded incoming recruits, Brandon Jackson, will turn 17 a week and a half before the Wisconsin game. Born 8/23/1989.

I think this year's team is going to be alot of fun to watch. I'm sure there will be times when these young guys will make us want to pull our remaining hair out, but overall I think they'll play extremely hard all year. I don't expect a MAC title this year, but I expect us to be in the thick of it coming into the last three weeks. If we're peaking at that time, I like our chances of getting to the MAC championship.

Isnt the senior class always the smallest. Due to injury, academics, transfers, drugs etc. on every team it seems that making it for 5 years is a feet by itself. How many guys did we graduate this year?

I just read the press conference quotes from the UT game last year and it said 19 seniors. I thought we had well over 20, though.

I think the Spring roster had some of the eligibilties messed up. I went through it and there were are least 5 or 6 or 8 on the depth chart where the eligibility was a year behind what is listed on the numerical roster.
We are young, but not quite as young as the depth chart makes it look.
