I thought Noe was a Falcon fan

Mr. Noe and his wife, Bernadette, have donated more than $17,000 to the university since 1998...

In addition to the money he gave BGSU, Mr. Noe or his company donated more than $34,000 to the University of Toledo. A substantial chunk of that money - $31,000 - went to buy a half-share of a suite at the Glass Bowl.

We both could be out of that money. I didn't read the link you provided so it might say this, but it is expected right now that charity organizations are going to have to pay back what he donated. That really sucks if you ask me. It's not like BG and UT knew he was crooked and giving us money that shouldn't have been his.

I think they would have to prove that the assets given to the charities were derived from "theft" from the State fund.

That may be more difficult to prove than it appears. Rumor has it that his charter as an investment manager gave him the right to trade with himself.
If true, he theoretically could have sold the State coins that he invested a penny in for whatever he felt like paying himself.

Of course this pales in comparison to the hundreds of millions directed to a Bermuda based hedge fund by some other muckity muck at the BWC. That investment was in direct violation of the fund's rules (hedge funds are explicitly forbidden). To top it off, any arbitration or legal proceedings against that fund have to be undertaken in Bermuda (per the fund's charter)

I personally volunteer to take up those proceedings. All I'll require is a suite at the Royal Sonesta, a motorbike and easy access to Elbow Beach. Shouldn't take more than 6 months...

maybe he just wanted a suite so he could watch the BG game in it, and he is selling the rest of the games or giving them to clients...

I find it interesting that the political hacks that took donations from him gave their money to charity, now charities that received his money might have to give it back. Why don't the charities just keep the money? The biggest stiff job will be when he can't complete the pledges that he promised to pay. I can only speculate, but if he pledged any money, it wasn't a small amount. BG and UT will get screwed.

I do, too. If it turns out to have been Bureau of Workers' Compensation money... maybe some people were jumping the gun by giving it to charity.
