Has Omar going in Round 4 to the Steelers in his latest projection. Last pick in round 4.

I watched a little of the draft special on espn last night. They didn't have Omar in the top 5 qb's on the board. I was a bit suprised. I still say that is he goes in the 4th round the $ won't be what he thought it would be and should have stayed for his Senior year...Just my opinion..

Stranger things have occured, but I doubt Omar goes to Pittsburgh. They do like to snatch up the best player available. I'll be surprised if the Steelers DON'T take a WR with one of their 1st 3 picks. Personally, I like Brandon Williams to be a perfect fit for what they are looking for. They have a couple options:

1. Move Cedric Wilson to the slot and draft a bigger WR that is productive (Stovall, Nance, etc..)
2. Draft B Williams and have him play the slot. A lot like Randle-El, size/speed/hands, etc..

FWIW, I think Kiper just put Omar there as the last pick, not thinking he is a great fit, but rather the BPA.

I hope he gets picked by Miami.

If he had stayed one more year at BG, his statistics could possibly have been worse than the 2005 season. I only write this because the team looses a lot of skill position starters, and anyone who has thoughts of playing professional football, doesn't want to end their college career with inferior stats compared to their previous years.

I'm no expert or nothing, but round 4? Yeesh! Doesn't that kinda stink? Like "You're a 4th round pick, if you throw one bad ball you're outta here and in the Arena League!!"

I'm sure plenty of fellows with nice NFL careers came out of round 4, but I think along these lines:

Leave school when you're freakin' rich! Is round 4 money going to make him rich?

I certainly hope it all works out for him and I'm confident Omar had the resources to make the right decision. I hope to see him (and Josh) playing on Sunday afternoon.

4th round is just fine, still first day, still excelent money...a NFL QB min is what like 250k a year. Problem is backing up Ben. He will spend his carrer or 8 years as a steeler making 250k or so and then they will draft a stud and he will fade into obscurity, not the best things, and as a Pit fan for life the last thing i want is omar to take over cause Ben is hurt, Ben rocks and wins games.
Dolphins, a late green bay pick after farve announces his retirement would be good, vikings, even clevland as I am betting fry chokes this year.
But first day is best day. lots of NFL greats went late on day one...some were never even drafted and walked on

Actually they only draft 3 rounds on the first day.

Even if Omar does get drafted by the Steelers, he will get time to develop. Also, the Steelers offense likes to run the shot gun, especially on 3rd down and anything above 2 yards. Usually 4 wide.

If he makes an 8 year career out of the NFL, consider that a success, even if most of it as a backup.

I don't see how Omar, as the 4th best QB in the draft, could fall past round 3, or end up in Pittsburgh. There's lots of teams that need QBs or backups to potentially take over for older QBs, like Miami, Kansas City, Minnesota, Arizona, etc.

For starters some publications have him rated way below the 4th QB taken. It is also very possible to see the 4th QB drop all the way to the 4th round. There are hardly ever any 2nd round QBs, so then it just comes down to him being worth a #3 pick. I think he is, but NFL teams may differ on that thought.

It is quite possible, maybe even likely, that Omar will drop till the 4th round.

My gut says someone will take him late 2nd, early 3rd, with the Cardinals, Dolphins, Vikings, and Browns as my four most likely. At some point in the third round, he's going to be BPA on some team's board methinks.
