I think that Toronto would be a great place for a bowl game as long as the MAC has a guarantee to have a team in it, Sounds like the MAC and the Big East are the ones they are looking at. That could make for a good match up.

I love the bulleted points! Especially the third one that says "A contract with a stadium." Who would have thought that was needed to play a football game on a yearly basis??Ornithologist wrote:I think that Toronto would be a great place for a bowl game as long as the MAC has a guarantee to have a team in it, Sounds like the MAC and the Big East are the ones they are looking at. You know who might be persuaded to put up money for this as a title sponsor?
Tom Golisano. He's the billionaire in Rochester and CEO of Paychex.
A couple of years back -- when he was running for governor -- he offered $10 million to the University at Buffalo if they would change their name to New York State University. His argument: Buffalo is the flagship of the SUNY system, and it ought to have a name that reflects that.
This is wild-ass speculation, of course.
Maybe it could be the Poutine Bowl

I have been. It's a great city, and I was trying to be funny with the Cleveland (I love Cleveland) reference, however I stand by the fact that Toronto does not even come close to Las Vegas.
By default, not including all the Sin that we all love in Vegas so much. The Weather alone in Vegas kills Toronto.

I seem to recall that it gets plunty cold in Vegas during the winter. I ROFL'n in 1992 when the ESPN talking head said the wind and cold might effect the team from Ohio. Clearly the fella hadn't been to Ohio.
Cold weather might suck. But the game is in a dome. I love Bloor street, near U. of Toronto. I think Vegas is a totally different kind of city. Not fair to compare the two. Toronto is a more "complete" city. And frankly, I can drive to Toronto in a few hours.
