Man did WMU's Jennings & Scheffler just torch BG last season. Jennings had 8 catches for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Scheffler had 5 catches for 59 yards and 1 touchdown. You could have used video footage from that game for these two as a highlight reel. That game began the downfall of our season in more ways than one last.

Honestly...no. They are both very good players and could have played for Michigan.

That Avant hasn't gone surprises me a bit, but I guess he was hurt and/or had a rough combine. Other than that, they don't have too many skill guys in the draft, I don't think. I thought maybe Gabe Watson would go, but he may not be athletic enough to warrant a high pick in the NFL.

Avant ran a 4.8 forty yard dash. NFL teams generally like their WRs to be faster than their OL & QBs. Avant doesn't guarantee that.

haha 4.8? thats horrible. He is pretty good though. I remember that he can come up with those circus catches. Im not that surprised he hasnt gone yet. Although it would surprise me if he goes too soon anyway.

Oh, as for Gabe Watson, the guy is PLENTY athletic enough. When he wants to play he's a stud. Big time stud. Top 15 pick stud. All the talent you could want from a NT prospect.

Unfortunately when he wants to play is VERY hit or miss. Carr actually had to bench him for a true freshman this past year because Gabe wasn't playing to his potential. Watson had a poor senior season because of a poor work ethic. Then in pre-draft stuff he comes out and looks like a monster again. Teams are obviously scared that they won't be able to get a consistent effort from him.

I do think that Gabe will be one of the first 20 players off the board today, he's probably got one of the highest upsides of the players still available.

Yeah, essentially, Watson doesn't live to play football. Nothing wrong with that, he gets to decide what his life is about. But its not compatible with playing in the NFL.

Jason Avant will look really good playing for the Montreal Alouettes.

Okay, hammb, you can shut up any time now...

Honestly, your comments were what I was thinking about both of those guys, I guess I didn't express it nearly well enough. Avant's 40 time surprises me, though as was mentioned, I figured his "sticky hands" would raise his stock some. It seems like I remember there being reasons why his time at the combine was an aberration and he picked it up later.

As for Watson, I knew he was a damn fine DL, but the troubles he had being fat and lazy (leading to the constant trouble with Carr) had me wondering about his athleticism. In fact, part of me was/is hoping to see the Browns pick him up, knowing that he has the potential if he wants to use it, and that Ted Washington will turn 85 mid-season.

I would REALLY like to see the Browns pick up big Gabe today. So much talent, and a perfect fit at NT. I just want to believe that Romeo can get him to play :)
