Great spot for Omar. No pressure to do anything but go in and learn the system. Playing with another MAC guy cannot hurt him either.

He'll get a shot if Ben ever gets hurt again, but has a chance to be a quality career backup.

I hate the Steelers, but it is a great place for Omar, really. No pressure and has a chance to develop.

Heck...I just turned more of a Steelers fan...They seem to like MAC Players...I can respect that/

This means the Steelers will have all 3 QB's on their roster from current MAC institutions. Pittsburgh also usually has a couple televised pre-season games -- we may get a chance to see Omar play.

it is a good place for him to develop, but when is he ever going to play in pittsburgh. seriously. with big ben there, he will never be a starter as long as he is there

That's not the point -- he's there to develop so the Steelers have a) insurance for Ben, and b) Quality trade bait.

now you don't have to feel as guilty about hoping Ben gets hits by a bus

I'm not yet convinced Omar was ever going to play much no matter where he goes. He's better off going to a place like Pittsburgh than a place like Detroit where he could get thrown to the dogs if things go wrong, IMO.

Omar is best off in places like Pitt or NE, where solid organizations can help him improve his ability. While Hammb may in the end be right, under this situation, you never know where Omar can go. I think he is lucky to land with a real organization, and if he gets a chance due to injury, he might be off to the races.

Omar got the break that Josh didn't when he was drafted by the Ravens. Omar gets to go to a quality organization with a history of developing QB's. Even if he just spends a couple of years absorbing information under Ben and Batch, he'll be so much further ahead than if he'd gone to perennial QB killer like the Lions
