I hope that's sarcasm. With the addition of Holmes along with Ward, Wilson, Morgan, and Washington, the Steelers (a running team) are very set at WR.

It isn't as if they project Omar to be the starter anytime this decade...

Exactly. One day, the chlamydia Ben's been catching by tagging Findlay chicks is gonna catch up to him. Omar needs to be ready.

Today, when the draft was going on I was haing out with my friend. We turned on the TV because I knew Omar was going soon, so I wanted to see it. He is a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He is also a very big UT fan. So it's time for the Steelers' pick and I said that wouldn't it be funny if the Steelers took Omar. So then Omar Jacobs' name popped on the screen and he was stunned. I started to crack up. I told him that soon he will have to live with a BG QB as their starter

Actually I think this could be a good home for Omar.
As a huge life long Steeler Fan this is my take.
Ben is a great passer, the more Ben plays the better he seems to get, the better the steelers seem to be. i have a suspision that this season we will see a steeler team that attack the first 1/2 of every game just like in the playoffs.
Tommy Madox was a talented QB and great mentor for Ben, he is now gone.
Charllie Batch has been injured and while he has been in the NFL for 8 years has not realy been called much by Pit (did you know Charlie is an Eastern MI graduate)
Pitt needs some youthfull quality back ups for ben that fit the mold and can be molded in case a need arises.
Pit has Rod ruthfor and Shane boyd on the Roster with 1 and 4 years exp
i dont know jack about either of these guys and never even knew we had them...they dont even have bios, so my guess is this
That Pit sees something in Omar, that will apply to the new Offens...oh dont get me wrong, my guys will still play smash mouth, but i feel a touch of the 70's Bradshaw falir coming on and consistant SMART (none ball forcing passes that is) will be a big part of the game.
i dont see Omar being slashed as a WR/qb
I do see Omar as a number three man this year and two man next year behind Ben...heck maybe even some NFL europe time.
This is great for Omar...no rush to play, loads of time to learn and prove himself.

I don't think Pitt is a bad spot for Omar. As mentioned previously, Maddox is done and Charlie Batch is running out of time. Pretty interesting though if the Steelers 3 QB's end up being Ben, Omar and Charlie...Miami, BG and EMU!
