The link ins't working now, but the Blade reported on Turner's court appearance. Here is the text of the story from today's Toledo Blade.
"BGSU athlete 1 of 2 fined for disorderly conduct
A Bowling Green State University football player charged with possesion of marijuana pleaded guilty yesterday in Bowling Green Municipal Court to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct.
Anthony Turner, 20, a sophomore who is a starting quarterback candidate, was ordered by Magistrate Tom McDermott to pay a $150 fine and $70 in court costs.
Ryan Patrick, 20, also was charged and pleaded guilty to the same offense, but he is no longer on the Falcon football team's roster.
City Prosecuter Matt Reger said he agreed to ammend the possesion charge, a minor misdemeanor that carries a mandatory, six-month driver's license suspension, to disorderly conduct, which is also a minor misdemeanor, at the request of the student's attorney and under the condition that both men pass a urine test given yesterday. Both did.
Mr. Reger added that he did not know the students were football players. They were treated the same as most other people facing a first-time offense of marijuana-related charges, he said."

Glad this is behind AT now. So what are our chances beating Wisconsin without AT at QB? Assuming Brandon sits him.

That's a big assumption.

Always nice to see the city leaders not being aware of our football program or even being able to read a paper.

No wonder Turner's attorney was able to knock this down to such a minimal offense.

I recall some quotes from Brandon after this took place where he said AT will be punished (for lack of a better word). I thought that meant sitting the first game. If not, what will the punishment be? Or what was the punishment?

I don't recall if that was an official announcement or what someone heard.

It was from a post by somebody who acted like they were an insider. A friend of some players or whatever. I hope he's suspended for the first game as I believe that is an appropriate punishment.
There has been no official word that I'm aware of that outlines the punishment for AT.

I’m glad this is behind him too, but I just hope this incident served as a major wake-up call for him and that he has learned an important lesson from this. I know he’s still a young college student, and that most of us did a lot of things at the age of 20 ourselves that we aren’t proud of now or likely wouldn’t do at this time. But he’s in position that makes him sort of unique, in that he’s a football player on a scholarship and that he has the chance to be 1 of only 119 starting QBs for a D-I team. He made a mistake and has faced up to that, he’s been warned. Anthony has got to not only make good decisions on the field, he’s got to do it off the field as well. Another slip-up like this and we won’t be talking about AT and BG football. I feel confident his sights are set on doing the right thing now, and I hope all of his teammates grasp the seriousness of this too. BG’s got a challenge ahead of itself in 2006 on the field, it doesn’t need to be battling with things off the field too. GO BG!!!

I heard Brandon made him go the entire spring practice schedule with Ben Gay in his jock. That'll teach him.

Actually I believe it was icy-hot. AT was fast that day.

I think it was right after we played Michigan last year.

If AT is playing QB in the game against Wisconsin I will have lost all of what little faith I have in Gregg Brandon. For all of Dakich's issues he at least is willing to discipline his players.
