So who is running the place???

I remember a post from Salsa that Krebs last day was Friday, April 28. So my question is - who is running the department now? Any thoughts as to why this search is taking as long as it is? I would think some of the folks on here know some of the higher ups that regular folk like me do not have access to....what say you?

I heard Dakich was running it all. He had Jane Myers and Jim Elsasser in the gym the other day doing sprints. I heard that he might be pushing them a little hard and they might quit the Athletic Department.

And he's using manipulation.

Seriously, I don't think the search has gone on very long. I'm sure someone is acting AD.

There is a search firm that has been hired to conduct a national search. To get the best people, it is going to take some time. Lots of things you need to look at - we have criteria in place that we require a new AD to meet. This is not a Toledo Blade search.

We're going to hire the right person for BGSU and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Have we tried toledohelpwanted.com?

Seriously folks, I wouldn't expect an announcement until the fall semester is a lot closer than it is now.

ok, well you guys know more than me. Guess time will come when they find the right person for the job, I just figured it would happen sooner rather than later.

It will probably happen before the end of May. I heard they are down to three people now. Plus, my resume is on monster.com and careerbuilder.com. I sure hope they call.

It's true..

Would you or someone else be willing to provide names?

I also don't see why a search of this caliber needs to drag on for months. The end of May is a solid target date, but anything beyond that hurts the department more than it helps.

The ground work is in place to continue and maintain the current systems, this search should take as long as the Pres and search team feel it needs to, to get the right person for the job in here. to set a due date only garuntees we get a an AD not that we get a good AD.

Don't know any names, just that there are three candidates. These search firms don't mess around once they get the criteria that is needed in a candidate.

When was it announced that Krebs was leaving? It seems like a "nationwide search" would take a little longer than this.

Read in the paper that Janna Blais(sp) was running the day to day operations of the Athletic Dept and that Dr. Ed Whipple is the athletic director of record right now. He is the head of Student Affairs under which athletics falls.

Paper also said it would be about two more months before a replacement was on board.
