Need help for our trip to BG (WMU game)!

OK, I'm a moron and am about to really disappoint my son. I didn't realize that the Western game was Parents Weekend. All the rooms in BG are booked solid. The fact that we won't be in BG will be disappointing, to say the least (not to mention the fact I may actually have to pay for parking for the game -
But what's the "next best thing" to staying in BG?
HELP!

Perrysburg is right down 75 towards the turnpike. I assume you will take the turnpike to get here so you'd pass by it. Maybe find a place to stay there since it's only a few minutes away!

87,
I know this wouldn't be considered "close", but I have plenty of room, (3 unused bedrooms) at my place and you'd be more than welcome to stay with me... only problem (for you perhaps) is that I live in Sagamore Hills, about 20min. from downtown Cleve., but the same time frame from the Cleve. airport.
A friend ( to be determined as yet) and I will be heading up to tailgate with the AZZ crew and you're welcome to ride along with us(I may wind up going alone if friends are not available.)... In past, 6pm games usually get us home around midnite, but a 4pm game would get us back around 10 or so.... Leave Clev. for Phily on Sunday.
Just a thought...and an offer. 8)

Thanks for the offer --- I'm a former Walton Hills resident, so I'm familiar with your homebase!
Unfortunately, I booked our flight right through to Toledo (it was actually CHEAPER than flying into Cleveland or Detroit. Otherwise I'd jump at the offer!
The cheapest room in Perrysburg is at the Days Inn, which I'm sure is not Waldorf ... any insight? (hammb - thanks for the tip ... the HI is almost $100 a night

what the heck?).

That Days Inn is ok, but it's a little aged. You might want to try the hotels in Maumee right off of Salisbury road near Arrowhead park. Travelocity or AAA should have rate info. They have a ton of newer moderately priced hotels in the area and they are easily accessible to the freeway and the airport. A personal fav chain of mine from my traveling salesman days are the Amerihost Inns. They're always clean and they always have a pool.
I'm staying at one in Logan for the OU game...

I was going to say what hammb said, its a nice place. Corso, kirk, and fowler stayed there for gameday.
Did you try Findlay? I dotn know anythign there off hand, but there may be something worthwhile down there. PLus you can eat dinner at Ollers then, it looks like a condemed building but the food is awesome.

For some reason I was under the impression that the Gameday anchors were put up in the Haven House that the University owns. At least I've seen pictures of the three guys inside the house from last year.

There is a Holiday Inn Express right across from the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg. You should check that out. And just down the Interstate in Findlay (about 20 mins, I drive it every day to work

) you will find a Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn.

there's also a courtyard by marriot right off I-75 before the turnpike, but easy on/off to 75 south to BG. Its right off the SR795 exit. There are actually a few in Perrysburg, I can't think of the one by the high school, though, also close to I-75.

From what I heard, that place isn't exactly cheap either. It is nice inside and out but I don't know if you really want to even bother trying that.

THAT'S the one I was thinking about, i think. You pass it on the highway right before you hit the HS coming south, right? (Or at least the old high school, I think. Where the football field is.

Yep, that is where it is.
