As an interesting question, how many times have there been two Bruces at the same position in the same draft?

I miss Chuckie already, and we have only played one game without him (spring game if that counts). I hope that Aaron Davis kid from FL turns into his clone!

I guess it's nice and all, but isn't it sort of like being the world's tallest midget?

My biggest surprise was how many of these kids hadn't committed yet, INCLUDING Charles, until I realized that this article was written in December; and, if I recall correctly, Charles was an "add on" to our recruit list AFTER the normal Feb. lists came out.

To quote one of the funnier movies I've seen in recent years, "It's like being the smartest kid with Down's Syndrome." :)

i believe it was kelvin davis that made people just look stupid in his highlight video. was he the one that they just threw hitches to the whole time and he would get atleast 15 yards out of it every time?? if so he looks like the burner we need and i wouldnt be suprised if he started next year.

Maybe. But I look at it like some positive press is better than none at all. Being named to a list like this is sort of like teams not ranked in the Top-25 but listed as receiving votes. Those teams are not ranked, but they still get recognition for being solid.

Jax doesnt exactly have a lot of top notch WR's and Jimmy Smith just retired. I think Chuckie has a good chance, especially with Leftwich being from the MAC and Chuck coming from FL himself. As for who can fill his shoesat BG, I hope you guys are right in that Kelvin Davis can step in right away. Lord knows he could use a little foot speed at WR.

Sharon was one of my favorite BG players. I loved his style of play and wish we still had a couple years left from him. He's one of those players you hate to see go, but I'm happy he enjoyed such a great career at BG.

Well said BGSU33. Many of you already know Chuck was my favorite player for BG... which reminds me that I need to find a new one this year!!! I dont really know who to go for, but Bobby Thomas and Antonio Smith have to be the early leaders because of how great they both played against Ball State last year (the only game I got to go to). It was pretty easy for me to chose Sharon because I alreadly liked him, and then he made thee greatest catch I have ever seen in my life to win the game at Purdue. So from then on out I was like wow this kid is clutch, but of course I still liked J5 too because he's the one that tossed it up there and kept us in the game at many other points! :D I miss that game so much, if I could re-live one day of my life I think I would chose September 6, 2003.

That was a great day to be a Falcon fan.

And yes Josh Harris did some pretty amazing things himself! I think him, Cole Magner and Charles Sharon will always be my favorite trio! Just so many great memories!

This short article is in line with what BGSUFootballFan previously stated about the potential effect of Jimmy Smith's retirement on Chuck's chances with the Jags.

http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/s ... 2808.shtml

Jimmy Smith's retirement last week was disappointing to everyone down at 1 Alltel Place, but don't blame Charles Sharon if he felt a bit of a rush over it. The Jaguars picked up the former Palatka High School star as an undrafted free agent after a prolific career as a wide receiver at Bowling Green.

Fans tend to think of Smith's retirement only affecting the likes of Matt Jones, Ernest Wilford and Reggie Williams, who will indeed share virtually all of the catches that the veteran would have made. But as long as Jack Del Rio doesn't go out and find a veteran free agent to replace Smith, the impact trickles all the way down to Sharon, whose only goal is to stick on the roster. Without Smith, everyone at the position takes a step forward, not just the mainstays.

A smaller, speedy receiver like Sharon is an ideal complement to the redwood trees the Jags have running routes most of the time.

Don't be surprised if he doesn't at least find his way onto the Jaguars' practice squad.
