At least we won't be playing on the "green cement"

CMU recently replaced their old, hard, nasty astroturf with fieldturf. CMU'ss old turf was like cement painted green. The turf was shot, the footing was poor because the blades were all wore down and mashed, and the seams were wearing thing in a lot of spots. I'm in favor of grass like many of you, but fieldturf is much better than that old astroturf crap like CMU used to have. I've been on fieldturf several time for things and it's really not bad. It's a close to grass and I've seen yet.
I remember the last time we played up at CMU in 2002 on that old turf, Urban Meyer was really upset after the game about how poor the turf was there and he said something along the lines of how he wouldn't play his guys on it again. Well, you can say that again! CMU has since replaced its old turf, Meyer is no longer at BG, and Utah now plays on fieldturf itself. It's weird how these things tend to work out sometimes.
