I was surprised to read the Big 10 had only sent one team to the MCB.

Yeah that can't be right. How could there not be a big 10 school every year but one?

Its because there are to many bowls, and not enough bowl eligable teams...it happens about as often as a none BCS school making a money bowl.

Yeah and I understand that. Just being a Purdue student and growing up watching nothing but Big 10 football, I'm having trouble remembering a recent season where less than 6 or 7 of the 11 teams were bowl eligilbe.

The problem is that the MCB is the 7th tie-in for the Big Ten and many years they had two teams in BCS bowls, making the MCB 8th in the order and they just haven't had 8 teams bowl eligible.

UCONN and Memphis have both hold their own in the last two MCB's, so it's not like the MAC is not getting a worthy opponent.

Not at all, I agree completely. I was just surprised to see the Big 10 had only sent a team once.

I would rather see it tied in with con. who can provide a team rather than just using it to say were tied to the B10....for cripes sake a number or three from any confrence would be better than sub 500 big 10 any year.

Because of all the sub-.500 teams that make bowl games every year?

I hear what you're sayin, but especially playing a game in the middle of the Big Ten/MAC "footprint", playing a Big Ten team will do tons more for attention than half the CUSA or Big East teams that might make it through. Winning those games does even more.

I'd rather play number 6 in the big 10, than anything CUSA or anything lower than 2 in the Little East.

ITs just better to have an ADVERTISABLE contract with a Con that can consistantly provide a TOP quality from that Con.
I can hear it now...
"Welcome to the Motor city Bowl, the MAc VS the Big 10 and since the Big has only been able to produce a team as high #7 from the Big ten once in 12 years we
Proudly present your MAC champions VS DIIIAAA Champions the Pink Thongs...a PVT womans hair styleing college in hart of San Fansisco CA with a Student Body of 80.

Or Wellcome to the MCB where the MAC #1 or 2 Team Plays Cusa # 2, or Big east 2,3.

once you exclude, OSU, PSU, M, the other M and W . none of those teams are anyting to get pumped up about..esp considering the whom ever is below # 5 has lost in all lilkely hood to any of aformentioned name and confernece Recognition schools. Ask someone what confernce OSU is in...9 out 10 times youll get big ten unless the person is one of few who know nothing of football...Ask some one what confrence indiana or NW or Pitt or Purdue is from...and odds are 50% or higher they wont know.
Point being if you were going to sign a bowl with the MAC would you if it were for the #6 team and on top of that bill the Bowl as Vs MAC....i realy dont think so...its sad that the MAC bent over and took this BCS one in kiester...very weak...and poor planing.
