BG QB recruit Anthony Glaud will be one of the 3 quarterbacks on the New Jersey All-Star roster as they take on their counterparts from New York in the Governors Bowl this Sunday at West Point.

The MSG television network (the folks who do Knicks games) will broadcast the game on Monday at 7:00 PM.

Best of luck to Anthony. The game he plays in this weekend means nothing. The next four+ years mean a whole lot more.

Go Falcons.

which is exactly why I hate high school all star games...nice idea, but if you have a college scholoarship, there is no point...

Valid point there...why run the risk of injury? OTOH, it is a chance to play against the best in your state. I see both sides of this issue.

Show your stuff, Anthony!

Well I didn't want to jynx him with any talk of injury. But since someone else already let that cat out of the bag, DONT GET HURT Anthony.

Only eighteen days till the incoming freshmen players get to campus!

Anthony was singled out by this reporter from a Rutgers site as having a "strong performance."

New Jersey won 30-6 with a RB going to Georgia scoring 3 TD's.

The game will be shown tonight at 7:00 on the MSG network with a replay at 11:00.

Observations on Glaud:

*He's got a big-time arm. His downfield passes had zip and he launched one accurately about 40 yards while scrambling to the right.

*Very impressive size and athleticism, both reminiscenet of Josh Harris. After a botched snap, he ran down the guy who recovered it and saved a touchdown.

*It was tough to judge, but he looked fairly poised. On one screen pass, he kept his cool and released the ball a milisecond before the defenders got to him. He also completed a clutch third down pass over the middle to a back out of the backfield.

*Two snaps from under center were botched, but this is a moot point given our shotgun spread formations. A couple throws were off, but they were both timing patterns which are difficult to execute in an All-Star game setting with minimal practice time.

The bottom line is that he looked very impressive in limited action. The announcers said that he came from a wide-open high school offense and chose BG to continue to play in such a system. With him and Sheehan, we have two very talented QB's coming in that fit the system extremely well.

Great report!! Thanks for the info. I can't wait to see Glaud and Sheehan. And Glaud didn't get hurt so the jinx wasn't an issue.

I think he actually got the most snaps (more than the kid going to Penn State) but I saw nothing to indicate that he would be able to compete right away with Turner. I forsee a definite red-shirt in his future. However, most of his snaps were running plays and he botched two snaps, but that can be attributed to not knowing his center.

Forget about Turner. Freddie Barnes is the MAN!

Anthony Glaud and his Mom particpated in O-Reg at BG this week. Nice polite young man. He looks real good on the hoof. I was most impressed by his manner , the way he carried himself and worked with his Mom.

About 315 HS football campers in BG this week for the annual event I am told.

Go Falcons!

His mom breeds pit bulls (or some other large breed) so he damn well better be polite to her......

Interesting...at any rate, I feel the QB job is anyone's at this point. AT has tremendous potential but Barnes is a hell of an athlete. With Glaud and Sheehan reporting now, I am feeling pretty good about our future at QB. :D

one thing about the snaps from under center being botched...
the point is moot but not just becasue we use a no huddle spread most of the time. but becasue I believe that center and he had very few snaps together. snaps from undercenter require a lot of feel and two man coordination that comes over time. Games like this dont realy aford the QB Center Relationship to develop very far.

i still would like to see GB roll the dice and if he holds up in preseason give him the job and lets bank on him. this year is a mellow year in my eyes..developing turner...why not develop Gauld.
