To be quite honest I cannot see anything in that picture but a big 'ol damn ring that we don't have.
When we get one, I'll allow myself to talk Amstutz smack, but until that time, I'll just respect the guy for doing a much better coaching job up north than what we've seen down here over the past few years.

blah, blah, blah... we KNOW UT has won and we haven't... but look at the freaking guy and have some fun! I can't Photoshop worth a crap, but that double chin and bristle-cut hair job just SCREAMS to be messed with!!!

That's the reason I couldn't post any smack. When I saw that ring....
The guy may look goofy but he's won that MAC and we haven't.

I noticed that as well. I believe he's lost 40-50lb. He's the poster child for a Toledo initiative to get people active.Falconfreak90 wrote:Is it just me or does Amstutz look a bit thinner? I hope for his sake he is losing weight.
It seems to be working. Good for him.

I didn't see this as a "Let's analyze the relative success of Tom Amstutz's head coaching career at the University of Toledo in comparison to Gregg Brandon at Bowling Green State University in terms of conference championships and come to the sobering conclusion that Mr. Amstutz had indeed more Mid-American Conference titles to his credit, thus immunizing him from any and all serious criticism as well as humerous attempts to hyberbolize and joke about his substantial girth; now let's glumly run away with our tail between our legs before one of the intrepid UT posters who frequents this board points this out for us" thread.
It's a freaking joke, and the head coaching record against BG of this Bear Bryant reincarnate is 3-2 with the extra win coming in double overtime.
I have no problem with joking. He certainly is fat, and it's easy to pick on fat people. But in all seriousness the first thing that jumped at me in that pick was not the ridiculous pose, but that big ring. I couldn't think of anything funny to do with the picture, because quite frankly, I do respect the guy quite a bit as a coach.
