Former BG players playing for Marion Mayhem

Post by BGSU96 »

Fomer BG players Karl Rose and Marcus Allen are playing for the Marion Mayhem Indoor Arena Football Team. Karl is a starting WR/DB and Marcus is a starting RB/LB. Ed and I went to see them play last night. The both lookd awesome!!!!! Both of them had a TD last night too. I feel kind of stupid that the Mayham have been in Marion for a year now and we jsut got to a game last night. The Mayham are part of the Great Lakes Indoor Football League.

don't forget ted sauder who used to rip up the intraumural fields. this year he even picked apart the best defense in flag football history that consisted of danial sayles, tayte mayberry, mike malone, pat curran, joe dyer, and james hawkins.

I'm an Elgin grad of 2003. I'm amazed Marion has an indoor football team.

Marion hasn't seen this kind of excitement since the Oorang Indians left town.

I also heard 'our guys' pulled a couple people out of a burning car on Route 23 recently.

There may have been a write up in the Marion paper ?

I think Karl and Marcus were either going to or coming from a game !!

Yes they did. Ed and I were coming from from Wooster that night and saw the accident. I was absolutely horrible. After all the home games win or lose, the team goes to a sports pub in nearby Caledonia for an after game meal. They invite the fans to join them. Marccus, Karl, and one of the other players were on their way to the team meal when they came upon the accident and rescued the two men from their burning car.

Way To Go Mayhem!

Actually, and Michelle will back me up on this (I think she already alluded to this), but I felt stupid that we didn't check the roster to see the BG kids on the team. We would have gone to more games! I just hope they are back next season so we can see more games, not to mention remember to take our camera! After these games, they let you on the field so you can talk to the players and the kids can get autographs. Hey, what can we say ... what else is there to do in Marion, Ohio on a Saturday night in the spring?!? All kidding aside, Karl and Marcus looked pretty good, and Karl still likes to hit. It was nice to see! Karl was one of our favorites.

Now the United Indoor Football (UIF) league is where it's at. The Lexington Horsemen have dominated the league since its inception way back in 2005.

Ted Sauder has started 3 or 4 games at QB I believe. He never played here at BGSU, but he is still finishing up school here. He graduates in August.

Great intramural player, both indoor and outdoor flag football.
