Segment to air Friday on FOX36 WUPW

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

Well, this has all been hinted at, but here's the information from WUPW FOX36, Toledo:

They are doing a story on message boards and fan sites and how they (we) have changed the way fans get news about their teams. Adam Kuperstiein interviewed myself and two other members of the website who were available for on-camera interviews (McMetz811 and Ornithologit). They also interviewed Mark Myers, who runs the Rocket Report site at www.toledorockets.com

The segment will air on Friday evening's broadcast. Here are the details from sports director Brad Fanning on that telecast:
...our news is scheduled to come on at 10:30PM because of the debate.
We're only doing a half hour show with the sportscast taking up the final 2
segments. Sports should hit around 10:45pm, the story will be the last
thing after our high school football coverage. We do some sort of a
football feature story every week...this is your week. Not sure if adam
told you or not, but we interviewed mark Meyers from toledorockets.com, he
was a great interview but was unable to provide a poster for us. I tell you
this because your site will be the focus of the majority of the story
because we have so much more stuff from you guys.
I will be trying my best to capture the clip and get it on the website for those of you not in the Toledo market.

Grant's a star!

Post by Class of 61 »

Grant,
I only have one question for you....did you put on makeup for your TV appearance? Only kidding of course, because it's good publicity for something YOU"VE created and WE"VE all benefitted from... Will see you at HC game tailgate...in meantime, if you CAN put something on AZZ for us "out of towners" who don't get Toledo TV, I'm sure it'll be appreciated by all. 8)
BTW, Are you bringing any of last year's T-shirts to HC? We missed connections last BBall season if you recall, and I still want one or possibly 2 depending on sizes available. (Remember, I gave mine to my Texas brother who disrupted the site for awhile but DID come here IN ORANGE no less to root for the Falcons vs. NIU. (Iguess this really wound up to be 2 questions).

No makeup! It's all my natural beauty!! HAahaha..

I will bring the left over t-shirts to homecoming. I'm afraid there's only Large and maybe a 2XL left...but I'll bring them and we can wheel and deal on them at that point. :-)

The spot tonight isn't a promo for this site really, it's more a commentary on how sports message boards have become a major source of information for the fan base in the past few years. I hope we get a few more good members out of it though! Look for the clip to be online tomorrow!

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I'll have the clip online tomorrow as well as some screenshots suitable for wallpaper purposes!

Thanks again for your help Metzgers!

I thought the story was really good, even with us in it! Timely, interesting and entertaining. Great stuff from Adam Kuperstein and Fox36!!

Mark Myers represented his site well too. Just an all-around good job!

For a 2 minute spot, it was definitely great! Maybe if we ever get the bus going, they can do a whole show on us :P

Upon further review I feel like a UFO (unidentified fatherly object). Everybody got their name in print except me. So much for the fame thing.
