Four games into the season, I have to say, Omar Jacobs is playing better than I could have ever hoped for at this point. I must admit, I was a little unsure in the preseason what he was going to be able to do and bring to the table for the Falcons. He's had some big shoes to fill, and had to shoulder some pressure right from the get-go. But after watching him play a couple games and see the numbers he's put up already, it's unbelievable how good he is playing right now. I was worried about losing Josh Harris, and he was a helluva QB for BG, but Omar Jacobs has pretty much made me stop wondering what we would have this year if J5 was back - and that's remarkable. It scary to think how good Jacobs could be if he continues to improve from where he stands right now. Having him for a few more years is just awesome to think about. I wouldn't trade him for anyone else out there!

I think he's played better than just about anyone couid have imagined he would. I wonder what his own take on his play is? If I had to grade him, he'd get an A in my book.

Also bear in mind that Harris did not become a starter until the ninth game of his true sophmore season. Jacobs is only now going into the fifth game of his redshirt sophmore season.

He is already light years ahead of Josh where Josh was in experience.

Just hope he continues to improve and I think he will as I don't think he has been allowed to utilize the whole play book yet.

I had fairly low expectations for this season coming in because we were bringing in a new QB in a system that relies quite heavily on its QB to make some plays.

At this point in the season my expectations are pretty much the same, but more because of our defense and some play-calling issues than anything. Omar has done remarkably. Look around the country this year there are a lot of QBs getting their first starts, including at a lot of major programs (OSU, UM, LSU, UT). Right now Omar is playing as well as any of them and better than his counterparts at LSU & OSU.

You could not ask more of a RS SO QB than what we've gotten from Omar Jacobs at this point in his career. He has won me over completely.

Funny thing Brian is I thought of that same comparison today as well, but then I thought "Well they play tougher teams" but Omar did look pretty poised at OU and at NIU so I would have to agree.

Philly folks at the Temple game asked about Omar. When I told them he's a sophomore, their collective jaws dropped.

Certainly reason to be excited about the future!

I think Omar does a great job of running the offense. I am so glad that we have him for 2 moer years.

Jacobs & Turner, I like what the future holds for these two!

It just goes to show how far this program has really come. The turnaround of the whole team in just a few short years to be consistently at the top of the MAC, and bringing in some great quarterbacks to run an exciting offense. Wow, and to think not too long ago we were embarassed at how the team was playing. Here's to having a lot more fun being a Falcon. Before when people asked where I went to school, they hadn't ever heard of it, but now, people know. The fans at the OU game were very impressed with Jacobs, and that says a lot since they see a lot of good quarterbacks year in and year out, and they have a couple good ones themselves. This Falcon is definitely flying high.

My only concern is who is Jacobs and/or Turner going to throw to or hand the ball off to in 2006? We need to get some top-notch WR's and RB's in here next year!!

Also, we will lose a hugh chunk of our D-Line for 2006.

At least we should be able to guarantee some recruits a very high percentage shot at playing time.

While I agree that we probably want to look for some receivers and RB's soon, I'm not the least bit worried about the future. The RB's and OL are going to be awesome and I think alot of those receivers are going to surprise some people.

As far as receivers go, this is obviously just my opinion/prediction, but I think Lett is gonna be the man in 06 while the rest are also going to be better than people think. They all could be very good. There are two in particular that I think will really step up, but I won't say who because any of them could end up being that guy.
