I say yes, and he will remain at starting QB after the first week. Do not DREAD having a freshman starting, and it is certanly not a LOCK he will start. I have heard a nice comment about him originating from BGSU.

I think Glaud will be a good player. Didn't WMU use a true frosh against us last year? Having said that, it would suprise me if Factman wasn't 100% right. And, I think AT is going to prove to be a good MAC QB.

I think it is quite possiable that Glaud you be the starter for that game cause i remember the coach saying that for this game it is a open tryout with Barnes the walk on Hunter and the two FR so we shall see who performs well enough in the practices leading up too the game.
Also i have been wondering when we will read and find out who our first verbal will be for this upcoming recruiting class.

Glaud has the talent to start and he ran an offense very similar to our s in HS. On the limited video I've seen of him, he looked a lot like Bruce Gradkowski. He makes quick, decisive reads and gets the ball out of there in a hurry. He throws a nice short and intermediate ball, but seems to put a little too much air under the longer throws.
Having said all that, I'd be suprised if he plays at all this year. Barnes also ran a spread offense in HS and has had a full year in the program to get acclimated to the speed of the college game.
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Zach Charles and Kelvin Davis will see the field as true freshmen. They have the speed needed to stretch the fild and that will open up some room underneath for Parks, Partridge and Ruiz to operate

Rivals shows that 10 of the Ohio top 50 have some interest in BG. I'd be happy if BG gets just 3 of those 10. 10 of the 50 have already signed with other schools.

They've verbally committed to sign. For the most part, you can't actually sign until signing day in February. The primary exception being kids like Devon Prks that graduate in January and start college that same month. They can sign and enroll immediately

Glaud would have to look better than Anthony Turner to start game one. He would have to give coach very good reason to peel the redshirt and lose a year of elegibility.

Yes, except that Turner has been benched for the game...which is the reason this discussion is even taking place.

I think its going to be Barnes in the 1st game and unless BG beats Wiscy look for it to be Turner after that and for the rest of the season too!

Yeah, I meant to use the (non) word "verballed".

I'll bet anybody around here $1,000 dollars that neither Glaud nor Sheehan see the field this year barring injury.

Yep, he's been benched for that game, and that is all. Which brings us back to the other guys quote, if he isn't better than AT, then why burn his redshirt for one game, a game that doesnt mean much (sure it would be nice to beat them, but it is OOC, therefore probably the 9th most important game on our scedule). I hope to never see a true freshman start at QB, unless they are like a rediculous 5 star type player....ecspecially since we got Hunter and Barnes that could step in for that game and if AT gets hurt.
