Kent winning the East, Toledo going 6-6, and BG finishing last in the East with a 2-10 record.

In the Buffalo write-up: "...but they will be better than Bowling Green"

I seem to recall that site's author coming here during last season. If my memory serves me, his knowledge of the MAC (or "MAC Conference" as his URL states) was less than impressive. That being said, the only records that would surprise me would be 12-0 and 0-12, anything else is perfectly within reason.

Yeah... He even has Cincinnati ranked at 29th.

Oh my God....that has to be the worst preview I've ever seen.
If BG finishes 2-10, I will eat 100 bugs. NO WAY that's gonna happen.
"Buffalo better than BG"?

Seriously.

Why even read something that has the words "MAC Conference" in the address? Just from that little clue you know the writer is either an idiot or has no clue about our conference. My money's on both.

Freak, I know its buffalo, so don't laugh at me. But they give me a little scare. We play them the second game of the season, which will be Anthony's first game of the season. They will be coming off their first win under a new coach. Yes, I think they will beat temple. They will have a new attitude and with a win under their belts they will be sky high for us. You know we really didn't handle them all that well last year. Didn't really put them away until the 4th quarter. We have a lot of young guys that will need to gel, if an upset were to happen to BG this year I think this one could be it. I know I should have confidence and I do, I think BG will be a lot better this year than most people do. Just need to watch out early until these young guys get going. There are no 'gimme' games this year and as we found out last year, in the MAC, there are very few 'gimme' games anymore.
That said, this guy is way off and Kent won't be close.

I couldn't bear to read much of what was on that page. I think that the Falconboy and Teke must be the site's copy editors.

Well, he got the page colours about right. He really, REALLY needs to do something about his image optimization though. I could build a full tilt web site with the disk space that image takes - someone get the web police.
Glad to hear BGSU's recruits are not chopped liver, although that might be a fair way to describe how I would feel if my coach had had me doing HOT TUBS until I needed one those special bags you always find on airplanes.
I don't understand the idea that Amstutz is the Kenny Rogers of football coaches. Can someone help me out on this?

He's probably saying Amstutz is "The Gambler" since he likes to go for it on 4th down quite often.

When ordering McDonald's, Amstutz knows when to hold it, and when to fold it.
Speaking of which, I've heard Toledo Tom is down 50lbs. If so, congrats to him.

Maybe it's because when Tom is walking the length from his couch to his fridge to make a sandwich, he usually fades in the second half.

Spart,
I'm not laughing at you at all. I was in Buffalo last year and you're right...we didn't put them away until the beginning of the 4th. They almost beat Akron at home as well (led 7-0 but lost 13-7 in the final minutes). I also agree we will have no gimme games in '06. But for this choch to say Buffalo is better than Bowling Green? Based on what???
Yes, it will be AT's first game of the year....do you think he'll be chompin' at the bit to get out there? This is the real home opener for the Falcons.
When I look at our sked, the conf game that worries me the most is at CMU...Thursday night in Mt Not So Pleasant...that could be a land mine.
Oh well....in 32 days, it all starts and we'll have something to talk about instead of predictions.
GO FALCONS!

Predictions are predictions. Honestly, I could almost care less who picks us to do what anymore. Last year we were picked to run away with the MAC and win the MAC Championship with a team that was loaded on paper, and we all loved that prediction. The reality of it was, we turned out to be a pretty big disappointment with all things considered. If someone last year would have predicted us to go 6-5 overall, 2-3 at home and lose our last three home games to Akron, WMU and Toledo - we’d have called them “wacked.” So these publications can say we’ll go 0-12, 6-6 or 12-0, but the bottom line is, it’ll have absolutely no impact on the season for us and we’re going to have to work hard to get everything we want to accomplish this year.

Huh? Who fades in the 2nd half UT/BG 2004?
