Dont be biased. Seriously, vote for what conference you think is the best from top to bottom in college football!

I must agree. I don't root for any team in the SEC, but I have to agree. Some of the schedules I saw them play last year were rediculous. If a team can win out on one of those schedules, they should be in the championship hands down.

Go Falcons!

I voted for the ACC, and I think they are clearly the best right now. Name a team from the SEC or Big10 and I can name someone from the ACC just as good or better. Certainly the SEC used to be better than the ACC, but picking up Miami and Boston College was huge. I agree that the Big 12 sucks, the only reason I put them up there is that they often have a team in the National Championship game. However there is never much to get excited about outside of OU and Texas, especially with the likes of Baylor in the conference.

The depth of the SEC is the difference. The SEC is deeper than any league in the country. Every year I am amazed by the number of good teams in that league. They very rarely have teams 1-5 but they usually have 5 -6 teams ranked 5-15. The reason they are 5-15 is because their schedules are brutal and they have to play eachother.

I think the top of the ACC is just as good as the top of the SEC and the bottom of the conference is where the BIG difference is. Going by Athlon the worst 4 teams in the ACC are Virgina, Maryland, NC State, and Duke. To me those 4 teams are a lot better than the bottom 4 of the SEC, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Miss St! Most of last year the ACC had 7 teams in the top 25, and they have 8 teams starting the preseason at least receiving a vote. But you used my point in that not many of them are at the top (1-5) because they beat up on each other like the SEC and Big 10 do as well. FWIW the SEC also had 8 teams getting votes, and they were almost all ranked higher than the ACC teams, which makes my point. Just as the Big 12 and Pac 10 usually occupy the higher spots because of easier conference play, the SEC is able to have more teams ranked higher compared to the ACC because the "top teams" hardly ever lose to Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Miss St, whereas you are more likely to see a top team get dropped by Virgina, Maryland, NC State, and Duke.

Mississippi St? We know that you are in love with the "best athletes" who are all from the south, but Miss. St?

Duke is pretty dangerous.

Yeah no kidding. Tennessee is the most overrated team of all time and I more than predicted their tragic 2005 campaign. I rode the other side of the betcard against them all season last year and vocally made a point to everyone that I know that they arent THAT good. Alabama just now started turning things around, and they still arent that good. They remind me of ND under Tyrone Leon Willingham... pathetic offense, and excellent defense and special teams that keep them in the game by default. Not saying thats not a good way to win football games, its great for playing top tier teams, but its bad for playing crappy ones. Ole Miss, Vandy, Kentucky all have losers lately. I cant remember the last time one of those had a winning season! Did Eli ever get one at Ole Miss? I hope not, because he is garabage compared to what people make him out to be anyway. Dont forget that Arkansas has fallen off the face of the Earth since Matt Jones left, and South Carolina has become mediocre because they have had 2 of the best college coaches of recent history back to back over a good period of time now!

No you're right Matela. Duke sucks, but Kentucky is loaded with SEC type athletes and will probably take the National Title this year.

MACMAN

well seeing as you left out...the majority of conferences, I am going to assume that you mean in D1.
Teh best conference from in college football is the MAC. Why, if we did away with the BCS and went to a playoff system and quit voting on who might be the best team. the MAC would dominate in 5 short years. As it is from a competitve look the mac is the most competive conference in D1, period.

Haha. Glad to see you have full confidence PGY. At least you have that one really good RB Rafael Little. He was pretty much the whole team last year. He did great carrying them to that narrow win over D-1AA Idaho State. Hopefully this year he'll do the same except to some bigger name schools!

I did for one. There are just as many great athletes & teams there: Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Nebraska. You can make the same arguments for the Big 12 as the SEC. Big 12 South rocks, and while the North is not quite as good, the SEC East isn't quite what the West is.

Oh, and who has more preseason top 25's? Big 12.

Go Bears!
