Also, SI picks NIU, Toledo, Akron and Miami to go bowling.

According to this rankings list, SI feels BG will play the best (Ohio State #1) and the worst (Temple #119) teams in D-I this year.

According to SI we play 4 of the worst 7 teams int he country.

6 of the worst 17.

If we can win all the games we are suppossed to and steal 2 or 3 more we could be good.

And I don't think too many of the others are "stealing" anything. I didn't read the column, but I doubt Miami(OH) is listed as one of the worst, and we should match up well with them at home, and who knows what Akron is really gonna bring.

We'll be fine. :D

CONFERENCE USA: The league is quietly gaining respectability with Central Florida, Southern Miss and Tulsa leading the way.

Central Florida went 0 for ?? in the Mac, first year in CUSA and they go 7-1 in conference to win the east. And CUSA is ranked above the MAC.

I think SI went overboard with its C-USA predictions. UCF is way too high. I have a hard time believing that UCF will be better than every team in the MAC. And, no person in his or her right mind thinks that UCF will be better than USF, Pitt, or Rutgers.

Lets say we win those games against the 5 horrible and lose against the big ten.

5-2. We have 5 more games....Miami,Toledo, Akron, OU, Central

NOTE: I had to change it to 5 games. I thought we played Ball State....

EDIT: Maybe the "in his or her right mind" comment is a bit strong, but having UCF that high is strange.

I think UCF will be better than Pitt, Rutgers, and USF. Better than every single team in the MAC? Well... with the exception of NIU I can't think of a whole lot of MAC programs that are going to be better. UCF is good they have a big time QB in Steven Moffet, and return 8 starters on Offense and 10 starters on Defense  from a team that won 8 games last year and was a missed XP way from 9 wins!

UCF plays USF early in the season, so we'll soon find out how those two compare.

EDIT: They also play Pitt midseason. Both the USF and Pitt games are at UCF.

Yes we will. UCF will win both of those games, and even if they dont for some weird reason they will still have a better overall season once again than Pitt and USF!

Last year, UCF was 8-5 with one decent win (Memphis). Every time UCF played a decent team - So. Carolina, USF, So. Miss, Tulsa, and Nevada - UCF lost. USF beat UCF by 17 with UCF scoring a meaningless touchdown with 2 minutes remaining. I understand that UCF was young and should be improved this year, but so should USF, Pitt, and Rutgers.

Its not even comparable. UCF stuggled out of the gate last year. Yes they lost thier first 2 games including a thumping to USF. But that was the 2nd game of the season! They went 8-3 from that point on, a missed XP away from 9-2. USF on the other hand started 3-1 and finshed 6-6. Some quick math leads me to believe they finished the season 3-5. 3 of their 6 wins came against the worst of the worst in Cuse, Nati, and 2-A Florida A&M. The only area USF was better was on D, and they are losing 3 players off their D-line alone and whereas UCF only loses one on the entire unit. I feel like this is silly to argue this point with you because I'm guessing you dont watch enough college football to know this stuff. UCF on paper is better than USF, Pitt, and Rutgers, and I will bet you anything they finish with better records than all of those teams this year, especially USF!

Calm down. One of USF's wins was against Louisville. Not too shabby. And, two of USF's losses were to Miami and WVU.

I agree they have some nice wins. I defn wont forget the one over L'ville bc that shocked everyone and it was a blowout, but there is no way I'm going to calm down when someone wanders around thinking USF, Rut, and Pitt have a better '05 and '06 football team than UCF.
