I was watching ESPN this morning minding my business and eating my corn pops, when I saw that a QB from Kansas State is transferring to Wisconsin. Dont know if he'll be ready to play this year or not, but it makes you wonder if it had anything to do with the possibilty of Stocco never making a full recovery.

Uh, if he's just transferring today, I don't think he'll be playing in two weeks, regardless of how ready he is.

I forgot about that, I guess for some reason I was thinking he had already made the transfer. Anyway has that Illinois QB sat out his year at Ohio yet?

Just guessing here….but I doubt Stocco’s surgery has anything to do with this Kansas State QB transfer there. Stocco’s surgery is minor from what I understand, and he could very well play against BG in the opener. As far as Kansas State goes, I believe this is the third QB to leave the team since the new coaching change took place.
As for the Illinois QB that's at Ohio, it is Brad Bower and yes, he sat out last year and is competing with Austen Everson for the starting spot this year.

RE: Stocco
A Badger colleague told me that Stocco had a "good" chance at playing against BG.
RE: Bower
I'd bet a nickel Everson will be collecting splinters this year.

Bowers was decent with the Illini, I could see him starting by the time we play him. I dont know if he is good enough to beat us though. He seems kind of like the Stocco type. A steady consistent performer that wont lose the game for you, but most likely wont wow you either. I guess we'll get to see.

I don't think the trasnfer has anything to do with Stocco's health. Wisc.'s new haed coach had originally recruited this kid back when he was working at Kansas State as their recruiting director. I am guessing he liked the kid then since he recruited him there and it is nver a bad idea to get another QB you think can make plays for you.

Kansas State is recruiting a QB from Ohio named Clay Belton who has offers from BGSU, Toledo (I think) and Miami. The last KSU "target" QB that wound up here was some kid from Florida named Jacobs....it's be nice to see a repeat of that history.

I miss Omar already, and I hope we pull in that kid that you are talking about!

Allan Evridge. Sounds like a kid with potential. From what I've read, he needs some coaching up and a much better offensive line. the K-State fans who visited the UW boards were all very supportive of him and wished him well at Wisconsin. He won't be on scholarship until January and then will compete for a spot in the spring.
Had nothing whatsoever to do with Stocco's injury.
Stocco was seen jogging along the sidelines at yesterday's practice without a bandage on his knee.

2002 they were (11-2)
2003 they were (11-4)
last year they were (5-6)

In the 7 seasons between 1997-2003 they won 11 games 6 times. Dont know if you consider 6, 11 win seasons in 7 years as recent as 3 seasons ago "good".

Nice records in 02 and 03 but check their OOC games in those years. Snyder was notorious for playing creeeeeaaaammmmm pufffffssss. Not even good mid-majors we're talking the likes of Eastern Illinois, McNeese State, UMass, and Marshall . . . Marshall actually beat them in 03.
