Don't despair...I think OSU still has an excellent shot at making this year's Motor City Bowl.

I thought about that on the way home from Mt. Pleasant. They could possibly end up 6-5 with losses at Iowa, at Purdue, and Michigan at home. I don't think they would fall all the way to the MC Bowl, but you never know. Either way, I think it's hysterical that they're on a "losing streak".

Thinking way ahead here, let's say we win out and by whatever means, we do not make the MAC championship game. NIU vs. Marshall, and we have a win over Marshall. If NIU wins that game, there is no doubt that we would be the second best team in the MAC. And if OSU would fall to 6-5, which is not that unconceivable, I could easily see a BG-OSU matchup in the MCB. The MCB would be drooling if they could get OSU. And they wouldn't want a matchup of OSU-Marshall, those two played already this year. So while it is still a long way off, it doesn't seem that far fetched.

I don't think so either. If Ohio State goes 6-5, some bowl will grab 'em -- and look past seven-win teams in doing so -- before the Motor City gets a chance to make its pick.

Two things.

1. I was mostly being funny. The mere fact its being discussed is funny, too.

2. If Marshall wins the East, they will be one of the MAC's bowl choices, assuming they are bowl eligible.

I won't bore everyone with an in depth analysis or anything, but suffice to say OSU would kill to have Omar Jacobs on their team right now. You really have to watch the Buckeyes live to get a feel for how bad Zwick is playing right now. He constantly locks into a WR the whole play, he completely misses guys running open, then when he does make the throws he's simply not putting the ball where it needs to be.

He looks LOST out there.

The sad thing is, if you sit him now for Smith, you run the risk of taking whatever confidence he has for good. If you ride it out, you may wind up with a season even Cooper would laugh at AND a QB with no future in the program.

Glad I'm not Jim Tressel...

Flip, I'm not saying you bench him and bring in Smith, but you absolutely MUST let Smith get some series in these upcoming games. I don't think it will happen, Tressel seems to think Zwick is the answer, but I'm not convinced.

That team is so young they make a lot of mistakes, especially on offense, but their QB play is abysmal. As I said, you really cannot fathom how bad it is until you watch live. I think Zwick was sacked 5 times today. At least 4 of those he had guys open downfield but didn't see them before pulling the ball down and trying to scramble. That would be okay if he were Michael Vick, but he is not! :)

All is not happy in Columbus, let me tell ya!

I thought they'd lose 2-3 games before the UM game, but they could very well lose 4 or 5 by then. I still think they beat UM at home, just because Tressel puts so much weight on that game, and the shoe will be rocking. Of course the shoe was rocking pretty good today too, until the offense never came out of the lockers after halftime.

I think they'd score more if they just trot Nugent out as soon as they cross midfield.

To be fair to Smith, I think if you're going to run him out there, you have to give him a start or at least half to get in rhythm. Then again, it's not like changing QB's is going to fix the running game...

People on this board are WAY too worried about what is happening 110 miles southeast of here! Of course the MAC is getting screwed with the 2 bowl games but rest easy my friends, changes are being made! OSU is having a down year, did you expect them to be perfect and in a BCS bowl every year? It just doesnt happen. You dont see us posting that Texas Lost or georgia lost today, you guys just gotta realize that OSU means nothing to the BG team this year (unless they meet in the MCB, but we'll worry about that when/if it happens) I think it would be cool for once if one week when OSU lost, we didnt see anything about it on the BGSU BOARD ...that still is what this board is for, right mike? give me criticism because I know you will, go bg, beat ball state and beat bryan williamson, BSU's best player

Wow, you don't say...hey the best two minutes of fotball I sw today was the Furman/Appalachian State game. Furman's Ingle Martin (yep the same kid that played at Florida) made a great play when he sidestepped a massive Appy State blitz to deliver a perfect screen to his TB who then ran 52 yards for the score and a six point lead with 2 minutes to go. Martin had to have half the defense on him when he threw that pass.

Appy State then got the ball back and marched right down the field. They run the same offense as we do. Their QB Richie Williams completed 40 of 45 for 415yrds today. They passed Furman silly and moved the ball to the 15 with about 45 seconds to go. Having spreda the Furman defense sideline to sideline, the Appy State coaches made a great call and ran the QB draw. Williams took it in for the go ahead TD.

Furman could have won it on their last possesion, but their try for the hook and ladder was thrwarted when the WR got drilled to the turf before he could lateral the ball to the tb streakig up the sideline.

man, that was some really good football.

I wasn't going to say anything about the suckeyes until I read this. It is funny how quick your mind can change on things my friend. Just a month ago you were trash talking with me on how great OSU and they are going to win so many games. Now all of the sudden you are telling people not to worry or mention anything about the team. Someone is sounding a little bitter when it comes to their team's performance if you ask me...
