...The 2006 academic eligibility of another running back, junior Scooter McDougle, remains unresolved, Helgren said
Someone on the Rocket board said McDougle was taking a summer class (or classes) and those results would tell the tale. I wouldn't make too much out of either of these kids being ineligible; the Rockets seem to have plenty of horsepower in the backfield.Zom wrote:And just to round the article off:

McDougle I would think would be more of a hit than Junior Mafia getting the boot. Then again, if there was any question about Scooter being eligible this fall, someone will be getting plenty of reps to get ready just in case. Besides, even if he is ineligible, his replacement will have 11 "real time practices" before we face him anyway.1987alum wrote:Someone on the Rocket board said McDougle was taking a summer class (or classes) and those results would tell the tale. As I recall, Davis scored a touchdown the first time he touched the ball last year (kickoff return). That would be he that did well in mop up duty while Collins is a redshirt frosh who has yet to carry the ball.Flipper wrote:Collins did well in mop up duty, but who knows if he can do the same against the first unit and Davis has yet to carry the ball.
....
And I understood that going in. Felt it needed to be said though.Flipper wrote:Ehhh...they're rockettes so I'm not motivated enough to proofread
Not sure why either one of them is a "hit" taken. Neither played last year. Scooter was huge in 2004, but we played without him last year. Sure, Trinity and Quinton are gone, but DaJuane Collins will be very good. And there is this Bruce Frieson kid out of Cleveland Glenville, who coaches have likened to Wasean Tait.TG1996 wrote:McDougle I would think would be more of a hit than Junior Mafia getting the boot.1987alum wrote:Someone on the Rocket board said McDougle was taking a summer class (or classes) and those results would tell the tale. So he has 12 years of eligibility lined up?rocketfootball wrote:And there is this Bruce Frieson kid out of Cleveland Glenville, who coaches have likened to Wasean Tait.
