We should have a better record when we play OSU

I would bet we are 4-1 when we play OSU and the Luckeyes are 3-2. If Northern Illinois wins that game I will dance in the Streets!

I just really looked at our schedule for the first time and realized we play OSU in season, not early. And before them we play 4 teams we should beat.

The phrase "should beat" should not appear in any BG fan's vocabulary this season.

A very smart man once said "If you aim for failure, you can never be disappointed."

Now, I'm not saying this year's going to be a failure. But, I think last year showed us that the team is as good as they play, not as good as their hyped.

.500 this year is a good season for me.

Buffalo has a new coach.

Stoli-ich is finding footing at OU.

Kent is going to be improved (and the game last year was an ugly affair).

FIU will be dangerous.

I see no "should beat" in any of the above list.

I really wish the OU game was at BG this year. This sign would have much more effect at DLP than in Athens:

With so many freshman and other youngsters getting PT, I have no idea how good or bad we're going to be this year. I'll have a somewhat better idea after Saturday's scrimmage.

With that in mind...I'm with RUIT, I don't want to label any of our early games as being "should win". This season is going to be a lot like Christmas...we're gonna open up those shiny boxes and either be happy because we finally got that bb gun or pissed because we got more socks.

Color me insane for making a preseason prediction about football this year, but I think both teams will be (4-1) prior to that game.

do not count on it. 4-1? Are you basing that off the hype of last years offense? This years offense doesn't have any hype. 2 starting RB's 1 QB and 2 WR's graduated or drafted early and no defense and you are willing to bet 4-1 for OSU game?

Wanna bet $2000 on that 4-1 record?

I am thinking you better re-evaluate not only BG but the other teams in that conference that are catching up. BG is going to lose to OU, KENT, Miami and maybe Buffalo.

Just a thought, but you may want to keep your dancing shoes in the closet for another year fella

Wow you are right. We certainly lost alot. We only have what 11 starters returning. Just 4 guys on the defense return. How can you possibly have a good defense with only 4 players returning?

I agree that there are a lot of unknowns and that there is a really good chance that we arent 4-1 going into that game. But I feel there is a lot better chance of us being 4-1 going into that game, than us losing to Ohio, Buffalo AND Kent. Thats a bit ridiculous and unless tekekini has us beating teams better than the ones mentioned that we're going to lose to, he must assume no better than 3-9 or 2-10? I just dont see that happening!

And Ohio State is going to lose to Texas, Iowa, Michigan and Indiana. Have a problem with that definitive statement?

I sense loads of pessimism in these words. Buffalo has a new coach. Great, but how in the world is that going to lead them to a victory against us at the Doyt? We beat them by 20 on the road last year with Pope and one of our recievers injured, and we didn't play that great either.

Stolich finding footing at OU. Point taken, they may be on the upswing.

FIU will be dangerous. Based on what?

Kent is going to be improved. How? Based on losing their QB and 14 other lettermen? Maybe, considering most of those guys must have stunk up the joint.

We were 6-5 last season because we underachieved and got caught up in the hype. I don't think that will happen this year. Plus, we would have been 8-3 minimum if Omar hadn't been injured because we wouldn't have fallen flat like we did against WMU and we would have CRUSHED Akron.

you could have a good D with only 4 returning, just not with the tier of athletes that come to BG, especially when the ones who are comming back arent any good anyways
