Not bad. Looks like there's still a little respect out there.

and 5 MAC schools getting votes (or 4 plus short-timer Marshall :? )... unfortunately it looks like we'll have to settle for beating #2 to start the year instead of number 1... Oh well, I guess we'll take what we can get!

You know what sticks out to me most about that?
Gregg Brandon, Bowling Green;
:) Coach Brandon is on the voting board this year. Not sure what their criteria are for selecting who votes in the coaches poll, but I'm pretty sure he was not there last year. Whether our success had a role in it, I cannot say, but its still pretty cool to know that we should at least get one vote all season if we're decent :)

To me, it is truly surprising that five MAC teams are getting votes already. I think the speaks volumes about the respect that this conference has gained in the last few years. The next step is to have five teams in the top 25! :) And FWIW, it looks like the mighty Conf USA only has four teams getting votes, with Lousiville, TCU, and Memphis basically being right there with BG, UT, and Miami. Marshal is a bunch of idiots. :finga:

and along with Coach Brandon, Darnell from WMU, Novak from NIU, Hoeppner from Miami(OH), Hoke from BallsTate, O'Leary from UCF and "Luther" Pruett from Marshall are all voters this year.

Also add Bob Stoops to the list (give him something to think about in Week 1!!!), a handful of former MAC coaches (or at least one or two. Okay, so it was Pinkel, and I don't think he's giving us a vote for MANY reasons! )

Gary Barnett's a voter too. Where do we send the strippers?

My impression was that they typically try to take the most experienced coaches in each league, giving an overall balance to the poll.

We had a lot of turnover last year in the MAC, making Brandon one of our most epxerienced coaches.

But that doesn't explain why Jabba the Hut and Buffalo's coach aren't casting votes.

So, I'm not sure.

Hummmmm

Do I take 10 minutes to fill out my ballot...or do I take 10 minutes and make a "Run for the Border?"

Great! So good to see the MAC getting more respect and to see so many MAC coaches on the list.
IF our coaches don't support and promote this conf, I think we've seen all the folks that will!

Wow, beat Oklahoma and we should move right in!!

36 days....

Although you'd think there would be one MAC team in the pre-season Top 25, considering we finished last season with two ranked teams.

The trouble seems to be in agreeing on which team(s) should be ranked.

Amstutz lost his vote. It seems every ballot he sent was illegible due to an accumulation of bacon fat and pizza sauce.

Since voting is done by e-mail, the coaches board found this most disconcerting...
