it said in the article that goodwin, johnson and magner left the program voluntarily. I understand why van left because he was the number 3 corner until all the freshmen came and he got bumped down. being a 5th year senoir he prolly just felt like it wasn't worth it anymore and wanted to relax and enjoy his last year of college. i could careless why magner and goodwin left.

Are these guys still staying in school or are they leaving the school. Thats pretty sad that we gave these guys a schollie and now there just quitting the football team. That seems to hurt us in the scholarship handouts for next year wouldnt' it?

Rhett Magner appears to be a kid we probably never should have given a football schollie to but did so cuz of Cole. I heard mumblings from people who thought Rhett was supposed to end up better than Cole but I extremely doubt that now. Goodwin, I dont' know why he'd leave. The LB's spots are supposed to be wide open still from what I've read and heard. I thought I saw him on the 3 deep at one of the LB positions on the PDF depth chart on bgsufalcons.com

Never mind. I was wrong about Goodwin being on the depth chart. He is still on the roster as is Rhett and Van but their so slow in updating that anyway. The freshman LB's like Jackson and Fells must be doing really well if Goodwin is thinking that he has no chance to play at all which is shocking. It appears as though each new recruiting year these past few have been bringing way better athletes than the guys who have been here a bit longer and certain rs sophs and jr's getting beat out for starting rotation time. I can't believe we can't find a postion for a 5th year Sr. in Van Johnson.

The article is in the game notes put out by BGSU.

Senior defensive back Van Johnson, sophomore running back Scott Goodwin and redshirt freshman wide receiver Rhett Magner have voluntary left the program...

Let's not forget that Johnson held the ship together when AT went down at Kent last year. Best of luck to him and all three.

I've also noticed the weight of most of DL are much higher than the media guide depth chart. For instance, in the guide, Brady Minturn is listed at 250 but the Wisky game notes depth chart has him at 288? Same with some of the OL. Our starting 5 go 317, 285, 310, 354 & 301. O'Drobinak is up to 270 at the TE spot. At 6'4", 270, Sean is a big target. Meanwhile, Riuz is now 236, down 11 pounds. It will be interesting to see if he's quicker.

I think the media guide depth chart is from the spring practice season and the depth chart on the Wisky notes is very recent. Coach Hillman must have these guys lifting their asses off or something.

At any rate, it's cool to see our DL beefed up. Our noseguards are Nick Davis at 281, Brady Minturn at 288 and DJ Young at 290. :D

Best wishes to Van Johnson, Rhett Magner and Scott Goodwin. It's gotta be tough deciding whether to stick it out or move on.

7 days....BEAT WISKY!

I agree...I think the recruiting has been very solid each year under Coach Brandon.

Myles should see an uptick in revenue the next 4-5 years.

We should blindly agree with his weight now....and before we should ignore it because it is likely wrong....

Your comment defies logic, reason and sanity. Minturn's listing at at 250 pounds seemed asaknce because it required one to believe that he had gained not single pound since high school. It also contradicted a post from (I think) Spart43 that indicated he had gained about 50 lbs since signing his LOI. Looking at the kid at the spring game was enough to convince me that he wasn't 250 lbs....seeing a recent, updated depth chart that lists a heavier weight verifies what my own two eyes told me just a few months a go.

Only a peron with a simplistic, slavish outlook akin to Tom Cruise trembling in fear of Lord Xenu would look at the pile of contradictory evidence listed above and hold to the belief that Brady Minturn weighed only 250 lbs.

Those of us with with a greater degree of intellectual development and the ability to reason exceeding that of a circus chimp would welcome the news that Minutrn weighs closer to 290 as another indication of our superiority. We knew better all along and now you simple minded non believers can join us in reality by pointing to a document tha allows you to leave your foolish ways in the past. Welcome brother, welcome to an age of reason and sanity...a place where the arts, sciences and intellectual discourse flourish!

Please understand that a large segement of the population thinks that those of us who share this sense of enlghtenment and those of us who reject it are thought of as "jock sniffing homos' by the majority of people. They have the good sense to not really care what some 20 year old kid weighs....

Does anyone know what happend to Brandon Jones? I thought he was in the mix to be our #4 WR, and also was previously listed as our KR until they put Corner back there. Was wondering if he left the team as well or is injured?
