Former Falcon in Ohio Stadium

Post by Rollo83 »

I attended the OSU/Wisconsin game yesterday in Columbus. It was very sad to see Ron Lewis walk out on the field with the rest of the Buckeye basketball team and be recognized at the end of the third quarter.

Plus, the Ohio Stadium scoreboard gave only about six scores all day and that was it. My cell phone could not get on the Internet inside the Stadium so I couldn't get the BG any score.

I bet Tressel would trade Zwick and Ross for Omar and PJ Pope right now!

Don't even kid around about "trading" Omar! After Ron Lewis, I don't even want to imagine someone coming after our QBs. I wouldn't trade Omar for another QB in the nation - not a single one!

It must have been tough to see Lewis at OSU. I really wish things wouldn't have come to him leaving, we could use him in hoops. But, if we're better off without him, so be it.

Sad? I'd be booing my brains out.

I don't care about what happened here with Ron -- all I know is that he's good, and he's not a Falcon. Ergo, no cheers from this guy.

LOL, I was booing! People around me looked at me funny, but I pointed to my BG hat and said that punk just quit BG hoops so he could come down here. Most of them didn't seem to care about the hoops team anyway so they just kinda shrugged.

The BG score was never on the big scoreboard, but it was on the smaller one quite a few times, along with many other scores. They pretty much showed the scores for every Big10 team, every top 25 team, and every team that plays college football (at any level) in Ohio. These boards are located on the facings between the decks on the sides of the shoe. I was in the North Endzone (opposite the main board) and could see these boards with the BG score quite easily.

yeah, ron can SD. Hes a quitter and a hypocrite(sp?) osu basketball is not a step up from BG, at least not in recent years. They wont be good while hes their either. We should schedule an exhibition game jsut so we can take it to Ron and his apathetic playing style.

That would just be weird to see him on the field though. I guess one would have to be there to really say how they'd feel.

Sorry you had to watch the hairless nuts loose again Hammb. but they will be watching us play in the MCB on TV in sept.

I've been telling all the OSU fans at work that Zwick is so overrated its not funny. I think we are seeing how much work that kid needs. Omar? What else can ya say? He is AWESOME!
The Bucks are in for a loooooooooong season. I see them finishing 6-5 at best.

As far as Ron Lewis? So long, farewell, I need not say goodbye!

Yeah 6-5 best case senario, 5-6, no bowl I look like a genius for calling it. 8)

My question is "Why would you go to the OSU vs Wisconsin game rather than the BG vs CMU game?" It is only a little over three hrs to CMU and it is two to Columbus. Where does your loyalty really lie?
The cost of the ticket alone would have paid for your gas to CMU!!!!

I can see hwere'd you pick that game.

Blowout of the chips v. watching 105k suckeye fans get blownout by wisconsin at columbus?

That is kinda a touch call. Clearly wathcing the falcons is better.... but I do like watchign osu lose. Its prolly the 2nd best thing in the world, after watchign BG win.

For starters I've never been to Ohio Stadium for a Big 10 game. It was a great time and a great atmosphere for college football. I love BG, but Columbus takes its college football (and tailgating) way more seriously than BG does. It is a great time to get down there at least once a year for a game.

Secondly, this was 2 top 25 ranked teams going at it. BG should've blown out CMU and did. I can deal with watching the blowouts at home, but I'm not into 3 hour road trips to watch an uncompetitive game, sorry.

Additionally, my tickets were free. The president of my company called me and said he had 2 tickets to the game that he couldn't use. He told me that I could have them for nothing if I wanted, I thankfully obliged. Hmm...OSU-UW for FREE or pay money to watch BG go play a game that shouldn't even be competitive? I'll take the OSU tix every time, sorry.

Before my boss called me on Friday I had planned on going to a bar and watching all the great college football games that were on. I would've probably taken a radio to listen to the BG game while I was there. I had to jump at the chance at the free tix, and I'm sorry if you now question my loyalty. If I'm lucky I can get to one OSU game a year, I see the Falcons play live at least 5-6 times. Yeah, I'm still a fan of both teams, and when I have OSU tickets handed to me, I'm going to OSU, sorry.

I don't think Zwick is all that, but with the offensive scheme Tressel IS SO DETERMINED to keep runing probably holds him back.

If Omar were there and was just told to hand the ball off from under center he would not be that effective either.

It will be interesting to see the Bubeye fans turn on Tressel when they lose their third in a row this weekend. Of course stubborn Tressel won't change a thing...TeeHee!!

Interesting comment about Tressel's stubbornness with the offensive scheme. Our good friend John Harris has an editorial in today's Blade about that exact same thing.

Tressel has how many National Championship rings compared to those Buckeye fanatics?

He can afford to ignore the fanatics. Whether we like how he coaches a game or not, the man is a winner.

The problem with Harris' entire article is that it is founded upon the premise that Zwick CAN make plays with his arm. After watching him live, I'm not convinced. He doesn't see WRs get open in time, and he's inaccurate when delivering the ball if he DOES see them come free.
