Buffalo - 29,795!!!! Let me repeat myself....I said Buffalo, 29,795 to see Temple!!! If we don't get more than that for Wisconsin at CBS, I will cry.
CMU - 25,418
Miami - 20,476
Kent State - 20,126
Ball State - 12,326
Despite only one of these teams winning (Buffalo), it at least was a very good night for attendance in the league.

It was a little sad to see them show the stands late in the CMU-BC game. Central's is driving for the tying TD late in the fourth and the stands were very empty. That didn't look so good.

The student side at Miami (East Stands) were about 80% filled if not more. Meaning about 8,000 students at last nights game - easily. But Miami gets great student attendance.

Much like Perry Stadium, the press box at Kelly/Shorts is angled at the "visitors" side.
If we can ever spare the cash, we ought to think about setting up a press box on the vistors side so TV cameras get more flattering views of our crowds.

I'm still stunned that Buffalo drew 30,000 for Temple. Yeah, I know UB has a new head coach and it was a game they had a good chance to get a win in....but Buffalo vs. Temple getting 30,000.....who would have thunk it?

That is a huge crowd for Buffalo... but Ball State won and only drew 12,000. From seeing CMU and Miami on TV I am surprised both were over 20,000. The away side stands in both games looked 80% empty!

A couple of years ago, we were good (under UM) and BSU wasn't, but they outdrew us, IIRC.
It's a shame their fan base has eroded, too.

It's sort of like it is at BG, how our west side always seems to have more people than the east side. Sometimes our west side is packed and the east side is only half full. I always wished they'd put the camera's on the other side at the Doyt. But CMU and Miami are the same way, their press box side (which I believe is also the west side for both teams) was much more full last night.

There is no "away side" at Miami. The east stands are for students and are genreal admission. They were 80 % filled. The west stands (behind the Miami bench) are season tickets and reserve seating. The west stands are the larger of the two sides and fills up in an arc fashion with most season ticket holders in the center. Visiting teams are normally given tickets in the south end of the west stands. It looked like NW brought a couple thousand to the game. The west stands were maybe 60 to 70% filled with space between the season ticket holders for last night's game. The north stand (end zone), which are small, was about 30-40% filled. They are not great seats to watch football
I will go back to my eariier post that about 8,000 students were at the game (our guess looking at the stands). The undergraduate enrollment at Miami is 15,200. That is a great turn out.

I think one factor that might have really affected the attendance for Ball State was that it was raining pretty hard here last night! Muncie is a little ways from me, but I did see that the weather was listed as "rain" in the stat box thingy.
