Sorry I am late to get online after attending the game on Saturday and then heading out to Iowa... so if this has been brought up please direct me into the correct thread.
Was that indeed a fake that we "executed" against CMU? Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or insight on that play. . .

Fake Field Goal?
all bowling green
Not sure what that was. I was pretty sure before the play that it was a fake because of the wind and distance, but I couldn't believe the play call. I don't think there was a run/pass option. It looked run all the way with Suisham being the option. Winovich was at the end position and may have gone deep for the pass, but I didn't notice Magner ever look downfield. Either way, I was confused by the play.

My thoughts on the fake FG: Central blocked two FG attempts last week. I think they blocked a few others earlier in the season as well. So you know their FG block unit is pretty psyched up. My guess is that our coaches were trying to use that against them. They may have picked a pattern up when watching the films and had decided that we were going to run this fake on our first FG attempt, no matter the down and distance. FWIW, in the post game show, Todd and Gibbie said Suisham probably could have walked into the end zone if Magner would have pitched it. So the plan was good, but the execution didn't happen.
