Pregame Concert to be in Meijer Tailgate Park this year

A great idea if you ask me....
Beginning with Saturday's Doyt Perry Stadium 2006 BGSU Football home opener, the Falcon Marching Band's pre-game concert will now take place in the Meijer Tailgate Park. Having been held in the Perry Field House in previous years, the pre-game event is a long-running tradition on BGSU Football home game days, and has previously seen a change of venue.
As Director of the Falcon Marching Band, Dr. Carol Hayward recalls, "Years ago, it was held on the Baseball field, and was later moved to Perry Field House when it opened. We're excited to now be moving to the front lawn of Doyt Perry Stadium so we can share the show with as many Falcon fans as possible!"
The move was coordinated in conjunction with the BGSU Athletic Marketing staff in an effort to further enhance the ever-growing game day atmosphere of Falcon Football.
Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Jason Horn, was equally excited about the move. "We're always looking for ways to add the overall game experience for our fans. Marching bands have become a ubiquitous element of the college football experience across the entire country over the years, and by simply changing the venue of this ongoing tradition, we're simultaneously achieving our goal of a more complete and enjoyable game experience for our fans, and at the same time providing additional exposure for our great band."
The Falcon Marching Band will welcome the Falcon Football team when they arrive to the stadium at 1:00pm. They will then continue with a preview concert of their pre-game and halftime field shows that will take place inside Doyt Perry Stadium as part of the game later on that day. All fans are welcome to gather around and listen in! BGSU and Buffalo will kickoff their 2006 MAC schedules at 3pm.
The pre-game concerts will continue for the remainder of the 2006 home schedule at Doyt Perry Stadium, weather permitting (9/23 vs. Kent State...10/14 vs. Eastern Michigan...11/15 vs. Miami).
