A Little Something to Wet Your Appetites

I took the liberty of running over to the Doyt today and snapping some photographs. With all the questions about the goal post nets and everything I figured I'd answer them and give you all a little something to look forward to tomorrow, not that you needed anything else. Oh, and get a load of the @$$ holes flying an OSU flag at their house right accross from campus!

Great photos - thanks for sharing.

The photos were awesome - thanks.

I think the mid-field logo looks odd. Why aren't we using the actual Falcon logo - the "enhanced" falcons logo I think they call it?

I like that we appear to have picked up some advertising dollars from Allstate (on the new nets).

Thanks for the pics they are awesome. I too am glad to see the sponsorship on the nets already. But is it just me or did they move the scoreboard/videoscreen? I could have sworn they were directly behind the goalposts in the South endzone and in these picks it looks moved over towards the West...

I agree about the mid-field logo, maybe they aren't done?

I sure wish the end zone writing was bigger.

Agreed. I don't think they're done painting yet (I hope).

I'm happy to see Allstate sponsoring the nets. I'm sure that helped cut some costs.

I think Allstate does this for a majority of college football, but its likely that it helped with the cost, which is very good, as mentioned.

And the videoboard is still right behind the goalposts.

ALLSTATE!?

Eh, doesn't matter. My division is smoking their collective azz, anyway.

Keep in mind I took them from the west side of the stadium so they may 'appear' to be moved westerly, but I assure you they have not.

From what it looked like while I was down there today, painting is pretty much finished, it doesn't look like any further work will be done. I thought the logo looked really cool in person, I had some real issues with glare off the bleachers from the sun so maybe my pictures aren't top notch in that respect. The end zone writing could be bigger, but I still like the way they have it now too.

I would much rather see a giant falcon on those nets than a stupid allstate logo!

Yeah now that I look at them again I see how it can be an optical illusion. It was just weird seeing the goal posts and net with no sign of the scoreboard in the background!

I hope they do add more painting to the endzone, it looks to empty or something just seems off about it...

I rolled in to bg about an hour ago and of course we drove by the stadium as we exited to BG from the South. . . Sebo looks great! Looks like it is taking off right out of the stadium as you look at the stadium from the overpass.

Just taking inventory here at the 'rents house on all the tailgating items then off to Kroger to capture the beef and on to Spot's for dinner. m m m m m m FIRESTEAK!

I wish the field looked like this:

Probably costs too much to paint the entire end zone orange. Just ask SmurK. We don't want to be wasting his general fees on stuff like that.

I agree, if we are in a squeeze for money in athletics one place worth saving is the paint in the endzones and on the field. I know that at Purdue they have never painted anything at mid-field or the 25 yardline and have gotten along just fine.
