Coach Gregg Brandon:
"We made every kicking gaffe in football, but we still won the game."
"I'll tip my hat to Buffalo and Coach Gill, he had those kids ready to play. They came out and executed on us, made plays and they had their chances to win the game."
"It all comes back to the effort and intensity in the off season. All the blood, sweat and tears that these kids pour into their off season when working with our strength coach Aaron Hillmann, we just presented him the game ball for outlasting people."
"We talked about it at halftime. We have invested too much, and we got it done."
Talking about Barnes and Turner
"They are both outstanding runners, I think you saw that tonight. Having both of them back there gives us extra looks. Having the ability to have the quarterback run brings a whole new dimension to the offense."
"I talked to Greg Christopher after the game and he said it was a great game, but there was a lot of teachable moments that came out of this game. You aren't kidding, a lot of teachable moments."
"We stepped up and made plays at the end, on both sides of the ball to have a chance to win the game."
"Dozier has played two real good games now, he has really stepped up. It was nice to have Terrel White back in there. He brings an old school feel to the team."
Erique Dozier:
"This win is huge, it's a MAC East game. The start of our conference play."
Speaking about the 4th and one stop
"We just put it on our shoulders as a defense. We had to win the game."
Jacob Hardwick
Talking about the last play of the game:
"There was a lot of emotional there, we just couldn't let anything stop us. We been working all through the summer, all through the winter, with everything we've been through, we just had to take it there. We don't lose at the Doyt."
Ruben Ruiz
Talking about the special teams struggles: "We can't give up on our teammates, we are family. I am not giving anything in, I know we are going to fix it."
Anthony Turner
Speaking about 4th quarter comeback
"It was definitely a confidence builder, its going to help this team throughout the season. This game sets the tone for the rest of the season."
Playing in the same backfield as Barnes:
"We got each others back, on and off the field. That's what our quarterback coach has been telling us, we have to have each others back. We care about one another, and it carrying over onto the field."
Freddie Barnes
"The offensive line is great, right now they are the base of our offense. If we can just build around them, we are going to have a great season."
UB Head Coach Turner Gill
Gill's opening statement
"Let's start off by saying I am very proud of this football team and this staff. We did a great job by fighting back and competing on every single play. I am very proud of them and playing a close game.
On the delays "We were going to continue to fight back with all the delays. That was a big thing we talked about was focus staying on track on the things we are trying to get done. They did a good job."
"Keeping a better focus on the end there and keep fighting. They ended up executing at the end better than we did and that's what you have to learn from this and what can we do better to execute."
On what you can take from the game
"When we watch the tape we have to see what we can do better for execution when we get inside the 25 both offensively and defensively."
On the last play
"The last play we ran an isolation type play and Steven King fumbled and we asked why we can't advance a fumble and on 4th down it has to be the ball carrier to pick it up and advance the football if it was any other down anyone could pick it up and advance it."
On the game being a wild game
"I would say it was wild because of the delays and I have been in some wild games but I have never been in any kind of delay game at all so that's an experience I have never had before."
On what coach said during the break
"I told them to relax told them to take their shoes off I didn't give them a big speech I just told them to relax their mind and relax their body."
Steven King
"They(BG) did a good job stopping us and fighting for extra yards. We had opportunities to close out the game and we just didn't finish."
Ramon Guzman
"You have to keep fighting. The game isn't over because a team scores a touchdown. We first scored when we blocked that punt, we were right back in the game. I guess another lesson, like he(coach) said, pay attention to the detail, it's important to focus....we just came up short."
Drew Willy
"It means we proved ourselves tonight, Bowling Green is a good team and this proves we can hang with any team in this conference and we know we are going to get back to work and prepare for Northern Illinois and press along towards our goals to get a win each week and keep working hard."
Ramon Guzman
"Another thing that it proves to us, BG is a team of tradition, they have MAC championships and we played them to three overtimes, it proves we are heading in the right direction."
"We are not going to be the stepping-stone of any other MAC team anymore, we are going to come in a fight, we came in today and fought through three overtimes and came up a little short but we are going to fight to the end."
"We were there last week, we went to overtime last week, and it wasn't a situation where we haven't been there but a situation where we need to execute."
"Definitely been one of the hardest fought, it came down to the wire for both teams. It pushed us mentally and physically, I guess for both teams, it was a good one for them, I tip my hat to them, at the end of the day we were up and we could have held them but there was a lack of execution."
"BG is a team of tradition, they have been one of the tough teams in the MAC for a while and for us to come out and fight them for three overtimes. At this time last year we were 0-2 or 0-11 when we played them(BG), now look at us, 3 overtimes, 48-40, what killed us was execution."
Steven King
"It's no time to get down. We still have the rest of the season left."
