We are.

Is their founding president Charles "Chuck" Perry the same guy that our own Perry Fieldhouse is named after?

It's also funny they have a former WFOB radio personality as their radio voice.

I'm pretty certain that is the case DD.

I think I remember TG saying that he wished FIU was coming to the doyt so he could make a "whose your daddy" poster.

:-D

Or even "Who's Your Daddy?"...

Looking back on that other post and knowing what I do now, I don't know how much of a "founding father" he was, but Chuck Perry (fieldhouse guy) was definitely FIU's first president. Doyt was also an athletic director and golf coach at FIU in the early '70s.

As for no one paying attention, I bet if I would have said "Chuck Perry is the reason our special teams suck", it would have reached 12 pages by lunchtime.

I'm pretty sure you had it wrong orginally, that's why I used the quotation marks. My memory is pretty good.

I don't know about that. I forgot that "whose" was even a word until you used it. :o

I believe my use of "whose" doesn't break any grammatical rules and is indeed a word so back off literary Nazi.

To be honest Schade was my second guess. I thought I was giving you too much credit.

Someone say literary Nazi? :P "Whose" is indeed a word, but is not appropriate in that context. "Whose" is possessive, whereas "who's" is a contraction of "who is." Whose/who's, his/he's, hers/she's, theirs/they're, yours/you're, etc.

A correct use of the word would be, "BGSU's Chuck Perry is whose daddy?" To which the answer would be "FIU's, of course." (It is necessary to say this with a snooty voice, because, I mean, look at how grammatically correct you are.)
