I remember seeing it somewhere, but I don't know if it was here, and I'll never argue against a BG history posting.

I don't remember much more about the Moe years than what I hear around these parts, but it seems like some rough seas as head coach may cloud his legacy as one of the "true Falcons". That and he may be another very good coach that was never cut out for the top spot.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I hope he comes back. Maybe we can recognize him somehow.

I worked for BG Radio Sports during the Moe years. After the games, we sometimes did a little feature called, "Moe Quotes" where one lucky guy got to talk to Coach right after the game, right down on the 20 yard line or so.

The two or three times I did it went exactly the same. Moe would talk to me after a brutal home loss and would be courteous.

Me: Coach Ankney, your team lost at home 55-7. Can you take anything positive away from the game?

Coach A: No.

Me: Middle linebacker Joe Bag of Donuts left the game with an injury in the second quarter. What's his condition?

Coach A: I don't know yet.

Me: Thanks coach.

Coah A: Thank you.

I'm still waiting for that call from CBS to help out with their football coverage.

Say what you want, but Moe was one of the classiest people you could EVER know. GREAT guy.............GREAT Falcon!!!

Moe was a heck of a guy. I remember walking past the Bryan Recital Hall in BG and he had his players there singing the fight song. I know not why but it was pretty cool at the time.

But at the same time, I went to every home game and an away game in the 87, 88, 89 and 90 season along with that brutal road loss at Miami which snapped their very long losing streak. In reflection I say, "CURSE YOU MOE ANKNEY!"

I don't know what they're called, but Moe would wear one of those orange and brown Bowling Green caps with the little pom-pom at the top. It was pretty feminate, but he seemed a decent man, although a poor head coach.

Strangely enough, I don't know what they are called either, but my father has had a hat like this since the 70's. I have since commandeered said hat and wear it to every game I attend. It has been on my head in Las Vegas, Detroit, and Mobile (albeit under a rain hood!). I take offense to the effeminate statement. Old-school-- certainly. Effeminate-- no. 8)
