We looked good today

I thought we really made a statement today. Too bad we can't play this good every week.

We played pretty well, but Ohio is a pretty poor football team. Solich may be the most overrated hire the MAC has ever seen. Maybe he was drunk -- who knows?
I expect another game or two like this, and another game or two like last week. We just need to focus on continuing to improve and develop the young talent. Today was the first time I could look at the game and say we look better than the week before. Hopefully we can say that every week from here on out.
One thing's for sure, after seeing what Kent did to Akron today, I feel much better about our team and season.

OU did go to NIU and get a win, something BG has not done in a while. I don't know that I would say "pretty poor." Obviously, not favored to win the MAC, but I think they are competitive. Time will tell.

I'm not going to poor mouth this win. Ohio thumped Northern Illinois. Hopefully, if Turner gets a full week of practice, this team can take another step.

I didn't mean to downplay the victory, but I realize my post read that way.
I'm just saying Ohio looked absolutely incompetent on offense for most of the game.

BG did look good today! And it was nice to see a little novelty/razzle-dazzle in the play calling. That double pass stunned Missouri a few years ago, and it did the same to Toledo. I was hoping they'd dust off the old play book and try something different. Play calling is soooooooo important --- it can make and break a team. So I hope they can come up with a few tricks at OSU.
step forward

I don't think we ever gave Ohio the chance to look good. We kept the momentum going all game long. They would make a good play, but BG would continue to play physical. We intercept them and scored a TD. They score a TD, we drive down and score. Most every camera shot of the OU sideline had the players just standing around.
It always looked like BG DL was pushing their OL around and getting into the backfield. Both their QB and McRae were getting a bit pissed and couldn't recover. Briggs and Young (and others) are going to be fun to watch! Briggs looked like he was 6" taller than their QB and he caught him.

Globally replace Gregg Brandon with Frank Solich and you'd about have it.

If we can play that way, the rest of the way out, we will run the table after the OSU game. Hopefully Kent loses 2 games by then.

Yes, I'm pulling for Ohio when that game comes up.

That's because the BG defense DOMINATED Ohio's offense. This was the same Bobcat Offense that OhioBobcat reminded us for putting up over 500 yards of offense at NIU. Our D just ate that team up for lunch!

I'm pulling for anyone playing Kent the rest of the way. We are far from done in the East race. Last year, we were 3-0 and look what happened.

As much as I'm pullling for anyone playing Kent the rest of the way too, its pretty much over in my mind. UT is the only team left in Kents sched that has a good chance of beating Kent right now. EMU, Balls Tate? I don't think so. We lost the Mac East with that loss to Kent a week ago plain and simple. I know that there seems to be some real good parity in the Mac this year, I'm not holding my breath for Kent to get beat twice by anyone on Kents remaing schedule.

Me neither, but on the other hand, what's gone according to form this year. The bad part is that two losses only does it for us if we run the table, which remains unlikely. Maybe a three way tie!
Anyway, one week at a time.
