Good win today. One we needed and went out and got it on the road. I don't want to be a buzz kill here, but the road ahead ain't going to be any easier.
The offenses in the MAC are playing it wide open this year...just look what Kent State is doing with a real QB.. How about these two today in losing causes?
Nate Davis, Ball State
27-38 298 yds 4 TDs
Dan LeFevour, Central Michigan
22-49 368 yds 4 TDs
I know we don't play Ball State this year, but Davis is going to be a beast in the MAC the next three years.
I shudder to think of us trying to keep up with CMU offensively in a couple of weeks.

Lefevour is a stud. I was at the game last night (well first half, the wife "suggested" we leave, something about not wanting to waste a the whole night with a babysitter on a football game
). Had CMU started Lefevour I think they might have won the game. UK absolutely dominated CMU when the other guy was in. INT, couple of fumbles just couldn't get the offense going. Lefevour came in a led to some TDs, and a fieldgoal to make it 28-17 at the half. Good arm, throws were on target, knows when to run and he doesn't slide, he just lowered is shoulder and ran. Lefevour quieted UK pretty quickly. Wish I could have stuck around for the end.
So, basically if CMU doesn't start Lefevour BG needs to take advantage of that. Their offense just isn't the same. But that will be a tough game to win, since it is there.

actually after the OSU game, i think that there isnt a game that we couldn't win. We only have 2 more home games the rest of the way, but the way weve been playing at the doyt, that could be a good thing. I think that realistically we will probably slip up in one of the remaining games but honestly i wouldnt rule out a scenario of us running the table in the rest of the MAC scheddy and finishing 9-3 overall. call me optimistic but, its very possible!

You guys really need to get this out of your head that road games are harder for us. It's not. If CMU came to the Doyt this year, I'd be scared as hell that they would blow us out. But since its a road game, I feel much better about our chances.PGY Tiercel wrote:Lefevour is a stud. Sorry I don't believe in little trends with an inconsistant team, and historically I'm sure that run doesn't mean squat. I think if you looked at the quality of opponents at home vs on the Road those last 10 games you might see some reasons why it is that way.bgsufalcon24 wrote:

All I'm saying is that CMU is offensively very good with Lefevours, and BG needs to take advantage if he doesn't start. Didn't say I don't think the team can win.
Last 10 games (not including Wisc.)
Home 1-4, the 1 win was against a team with losing record, 4 losses against teams with winning records
Road 5-0, 4 teams with losing record, one with winning record.
Records are from the year that team was played. So simply put, BGs road schedule has been much easier than the home schedule those last 10 games.

LeFevour will start
the rest of the way unless injured. He has been recovering from an injured back. Also, for all you guys with good memories.......CMU has another fat punter that is 2-2 on fakes this year! HA
