Why was Ruben Moved to WR from TE. Was it because O'Drobniak was so good. BEcause we needed more quality players at WR or because he could not block?

I think he's like a James Hawkins type receiver...problem is we don't have Sharon, Sanders, and Magner playing out there with him. Is Marques Parks still playing with us? Hello?

I wish I had known about this yesterday! I saw Ruben several times on the way in and out of the lockeroom (just realized I have no idea how to spell that...) yesterday and I would have offered him some congratulations. Either way, at least he was able to welcome his child into the world with a Falcon victory!

CONGRATS RUBEN!!!!

I love Ruiz's ability and really think that he will have success beyond BG. He is a solid pass receiver and has great size (6-4 234). Teams looking for a stretch the seem TE will likely atleast try him out. I predict a Practice Squad in his future for a team wanting to develop a threat at TE. If he catches somewhere around 30 balls this year he will get noticed and he should atleast get a chance. Perhaps even fewer because of our limited number of Seniors. Ruiz is like Hawkins but unlike Hawkins he has experience at TE.

Ruiz is a nice college player, but he's not going to get an NFL look.

If we had any NFL caliber skill players right now, they would be impossible to miss.

I would agree if we currently had a legitimate passing game, if you meant there current production/ability and if I was not projecting him to a position he is not currently playing. With that said I disagree about the extreme nature of your post. I think both Ruiz and O'Drobniak will get NFL looks in camps and Charles and Partridge should both as well. Also, with Bullocks size he may develop into a Brandon Jacobs type change of pace back and who knows if Sheehan or Turner will develop and Barnes is the biggest wild card of them all. If you took a snapshot of their current ability and measured that against their NFL chances I would say Ruiz is the only skill player who will get a tryout. however I think Markay, Parks and White will each get a look. The recent success we had of getting Pope and Sharon on PS's probably won't be repeated next year but Markay's size makes him hard to ignore for a coach who thinks he can mold a raw player and Parks and White's production and size make them hard to ignore at their positions. I would guess that none of the 4 I mentioned make a roster but what do I know. PS I was also very surprised last year that Warren and Winovich did not get looks. So maybe I dont know anything.

Who all signed in TC last year? Jacobs/Pope/Sanders and Sharon? Anyone else?

I didn't say the rest of those guys wouldn't get a look, I just said Ruiz wouldn't. Guys like him litter the college landscape, and most of them have better measurables and hands. Partridge might get a look, but it's way too early to speak intelligently about any of the rest of the young talent like Charles and Bullock. Prehistoric even.

When I say NFL caliber, I mean the potential to play in the regular season for an NFL franchise. Out of all the skill guys that have been in camps in recent years, none have seen the field in the regular season. We also don't have anybody currently that compares to the Jacobs/Pope/Sharon/Sanders crop, save Partridge if he can stay healthy.

Those guys aren't hacking it in the league, and none of our current guys are as good as those guys (yet), therefore.....
