Tailgating at OSU

Post by MIBGSUFan »

Ok, where will the BGSU tailgate section be? Anyone know where the visiting team section is in the Shoe? I can't miss this one!

We're in Section 33B. Oh well, at least we'll be able to see the band coming out of the tunnel

I will have a parking pass for the Tuttle parking garage right next to the stadium. Don't know where the best tailgaiting area will be.

The Freaks are in 33B as well. No tailgating for us this weekend with the Freaklings going.

BG is hosting a tailgate at Drake Union apparently if you want to pay 20 quid for hotdogs and hamburgers.

I would just beware, OSU fans are notoriously inhospitable, and the coppers will be handing out open container tickets to anyone and everyone, especially away fans. Even if you are drinking out of plastic cups expect to get a ticket from the cops.

Well i'll be sure to wear orange and carry a large plastic cup, full of NON-alcoholic beverage just to piss off their police. The alcohol will be in the concealed flask... :snakeman:

I land at 11:15 at CMH airport. I have a reservation at the Holiday Inn COLUMBUS CITY CENTER. Does anyone know if they have a shuttle from the airport and to the game?

Sounds like you are quickly becoming a true Falcon!

On an unrelated note. It's kind of funny that the emoticon is called "snakeman"

COTA (the bus system in central Ohio) has a bus that runs from the airport to downtown hotels. As for getting to the game, walk over to High Street (1 or 2 blocks away) and take the #2 Bus North towards Worthington. Get off at 17th, Woody Hayes, or Lane Avenue and head West to the stadium/tailgates, etc. They are about a half mile from High Street.

They make it out to be worse than it really is (even the other posters on this page). It isn't as lax as it is in BG, so you can still do some drinking. Just don't have anything wide-open in public and also don't make an ass out of yourself. They will have undercover cops, as well as uniform cops, so be on the look out for suspicious people.

Simply have the drink in a cup and don't run across the street with it in hand. Otherwise they will send you downtown for processing.

Hiya All!!!

For those of you making the trip to Columbus this week, safe travels!

As for the tailgaiting, etc... The police have definitely been cracking down over the past few years on alcohol. The best advice I can offer is, just be smart about it. Pour beers into an empty Mt. Dew plastic bottle, use plastic cups and just don't do much to draw attention to yourself. Keep in mind, there are cops in uniforms, cops undercover in plain clothes and ones that even go so far as to dress up as OSU fans...

Best of luck to BG, may we have a great game, injury free for both teams and safe travels for everyone attending.

GO BUCKS!!!

Kind of makes me appreciate the "laid back" approach that BGSU takes to our tailgating. I've climbed to the top of the golf course hill and played a 10 on 10 game of football with all with a beer in my hand. Man do I LOVE BG.
