If only for a week.
I was totally out of the loop until midday Sunday, so that's the soonest I heard about the Ohio game. For a number of reasons, we are without Internet access at home, so I could barely wait to fire up the computer at work this morning.
How refreshing to see a number of threads and numerous comments with
positive vibes about BG football!
There were plenty of doomsday scenarios being described going into the OU game and now we can set them aside - at least temporarily. We're dealing with a very young team that will continue to show us a wild ride.
Whatever happens in The Shoe happens. Right now, I must say I'm still excited about this team!

Great post Karl! I couldn't have said it better, we're right back in the race in the MAC East and prospects are looking good to be 3-1 in the conference after Homecoming!
GO FALCONS!!

as long as all or mostly all of our guys are walking after this week. its not gona be prety....some one give me something that even resembles an ice cub in hells center to lift my feelings and give reason to have hope the final is not 86 to 7 on this one....please!!!!!
I have not at any time ever felt like we honestly have no reason to play a game, but I do now. I need at least one straw to give me hope, and I can find none. I just shake my head and pray for well the well being of players and the program. A blow out will be a huge set back, even if that blow out comes at the hands of what is from what i have seen the best Ohio s U team ever....I said it...ever.

injury would kill us for what matters most the MAC and God we might have turned a corner this last week, or half of one.....

I will kill Brandon if he leaves our starters in for longer than a quarter.

It will beinteresting how long we stay competitive in saturdays game before the OSU talent dominance takes over.

Unless you're flat out conceding defeat after one quarter, I still don't get this statement. Throw our best out there and see what happens!

Did anyone listen to the coaches show tonight. When Brandon was asked about OSU his response was almost defeating.
Whatever happens this weekend I would like to see Barnes used for his best talents - not QB.

I completely agree. The idea of laying down to them is completey absurd. Our players have the same chance of getting hurt whether they are playing OSU or if they are playing Baldwin Wallace.

I didn't listen to his comments but he's not going to say anything to give osu any extra inncentive to come out and play harder Saturday. Tressel thrives on giving his players bulletin board material. Why give it to him? I think his feelings toward ohio state are well-known and he will do everything he can to prepare this team for the No. 1 team in the country.

If Brandon does pull our starters when the game is still within reach (no matter HOW inconceivable it might be) I will be absolutely livid.
I don't care if you lose by 400, but you damn well better be trying to win out there!

As long as we don't continually send Turner up the middle to the slaughter, you play.... to win.....the game.
Signed, Herm Edwards.

Amen to that. The last thing we need is to send a QB with a tender shoulder into the middle of a very large defense play-after-play-after-play.

The score will not be more than 40-0. I definately not saying that we won't score any points either because I think at a game like this the team will be fired up and our offense at times can show flashes of brilliance. The simple fact is that Tressel will not run up scores. He just doesn't do it. He puts the game securely in hand then calls off the dogs. He will not let us win, but he is an excellent coach and understands what sportsmanship is all about, even if some of his players lack that understanding.
