On WBNS today, the pregame announcers have been sort of going over Bowling Green, and they were asking some tough questions, edging up to how the team has been coached.
They noted that the team only has five juniors, and questioned how a class could be "blown out" like that considering the continuity from the previous coach to Brandon.
They noted the special teams disasters and wondered if coaching was part of the issue.
They noted that the team does run the ball well, and they do have some talented youngsters, but questioned why the team hasn't been able to throw the ball more considering their effectiveness with the run. They questioned offensive playcalling and noted that Zach Charles (5 ' 7'', 170) has 14 catches for 50 yards. That astonished them, that low yardage number. So did his lack of size.
I should say that they were pretty respectful, questioning the problems on this particular Bowling Green team -- and not running down the program overall or questioning Bowling Green's ability to ever be able to compete with Ohio State.
But they had some very interesting points that made me think.
