After watching today's game, I'm proud of our guys. We played hard until the end and showed while we may not be able to beat anyone, we can definitely compete. We drove down the field and scored against the best defense in the country and wasn't shut out.

I don't think any of our guys should hang their heads after this one.

I'm proud to be a Falcon.

That's exactly what I said. I even put it up as my away message on AIM. I said, "I'm proud of my Falcons. I love them." I think we stepped up today and showed what kind of a team we can and will be.

I think that was a very good showing today. The game was still just a tiny bit in doubt in the fourth quarter. Looking at the talent and experience disparity, I don't think we can really ask for too much more than that.

Well said all. Though my video feed crapped out on me just before half, and I only saw bits and pieces from there on, it sounded like the D was still bringing it in the fourth, and we're not the only team that has been/will be beaten by throwing the ball out and letting Ginn run after it.

A few things here and there that might have made a difference, but we didn't disappoint anyone, even with a 28-point loss.

Absolutely, Drew. I said all week I thought we were going to win, and even though I knew it was a long shot, I believed it.
Am I disappointed in the outcome, sure. Am I disappointed in our team? Not a chance.
AT came on today in a way he hasn't all season. Bullock was a beast. Defense for the most part played out of their minds.
I'm proud of our team and I'm proud to be a Falcon. Always will be.

I feel the same way as you all do.

This team has more heart than I've seen around Bowling Green in a while. They left it on the field. They could have mailed it in after going down 14-0, and then 21-0, and they didn't.

That drive to open the second half was a thing of beauty. That was an eight-and-a-half minute drive, conducted mostly on the ground, and we scored a touchdown on it.

The urben legend is that a MAC team is incapable of doing that do any Big Ten team, much less Ohio State. But the Falcons did it.

And the defense really did hang in there. Overall, I get the feeling that with a few more breaks, this thing could have been a whole lot closer.

Think about it: We played them closer than we did Kent State.

The Falcons seem to be growing.

Bingo. You nailed it, Schad - as usual. I didn't get the see the game. B-Day party for my daughter.

What I was able to see in my catching glimpses was a team which wasn't backing down. For a bunch of youngsters, I'm very proud at how they still had gas in the second half.

I'm liking what I'm seeing with this squad. There's some great character there.

And finally,

Respectable. And I mean that as a true compliment.

Against the number one team in the country it was better than I expected.

I agree.

The season is now half over. At the beginning of the year, best case scenario for reasonable folks at this stage was 4-2 with those 2 being respectable losses vs Wisky and OSU. From a bottom-line perspective, that damn Kent game is the only outlier.

I'm very interested in how this team does the next 6 games.

I think this team really grew up these last two weeks. Though the final score doesn't indicate that we were in the game the defense really stepped up and the offense was opened up a little bit. The true test will be the second half of this season and how the team plays in the MAC.

I want to echo the above statement and add that I think this was one of the more spirited performances by our D against a big time foe in some time. Erique Dozier especially, was giving out the hits as often as he was taking them! Good effort today, it's just too bad we didn't have some more upper classmen to help us out!

Since I was visiting my brother at Findlay today, I only got watch the first little bit during lunch. I did take a portable radio with me and listened to most of the game. Between what I heard, what little I got to see, and what I've read on here, I think my hope and wish for the weekend came true: That we have a good showing in Columbus. It sounds like we did that and more. Today wasn't a loss. Rather it was a day where we didn't win. I'm glad things went well, and it's too bad we proably won't be playing this game agian in 2-4 years. I don't know if OSU would win that game. I agree with RUIT. It's ALWAYS a good day to be a Falcon!

to be quite honest, i think that the Kent game may have been just what the doctor ordered. We were lackluster all year till that game, then we got smacked in the mouth at home and i think that sent shock waves through the team. I have seen some of the practices after that game and i think that our boys have an extra boost in their step...We can and I think will run the with the remainder of the schedule we have.

Todays game got off to a bad start. OSU drove right down the field and scored. Then we showed that we can play with them and drove right down the field on our possesion but then settled for a field goal try and got blocked. 21-0 at halftime, i felt that if we could go down the field and score on our first drive of the second half we could get back in it and sure enough we got an 80 yd drive in about 10 mins. Great drive. Then we stopped teh run beautifully on OSU's first drive but couldn't stop a third down. Eventually the suckeyes scored, but i felt that if we could get a third down stop and get the ball back, we could have been in teh game till the end.

Overall, i loved that our guys played with great intensity. And giving up 35 points was misleading because OSU got 2 TDs off of short drives after our offense turned the ball over and we had a shanked punt. I think that our defense played extremely well. They reall held OSU's real #1 recieber in check, Anthony Gonzalez, and other than the 2 TD runs, they held Pittman in check. But, that big run by Smith on thrid down and the long strike to Ginn were the backbreakers. I think that the O did well too. If we could have just minimized some mistakes and execute better we could have been in it. But, I LOVED the effort we gave and we showed why we have been the class of the MAC for the past 5 years. Kudos to the team, Coach Brandon and the coaching staff. Ireally think that this young team can really build on this experience. Oh, and that $650,000 payday is nice too.

That pretty much nails it. I had the team at 4-2 right now, with the Kent loss the only miss on my predictions. If my remaining predictions finish out correctly, we'll end up 7-5 on the season. My remaining two losses for us were against CMU (looks quite likely) and Toledo (looks more and more like we could beat them).
