Does anybody know what is wrong with PJ Mahone? He got the start against Wisconsin and must have been injured there or against Buffalo. I haven't seen him on the field since.

I think someone mentioned last week that Mahone had a neck stinger.

That's too bad. From what I saw when watching the video of the Wisky game, Mahone was a definite highlight on the defensive side of the ball in that game.
Here's to a speedy recovery for all injured Falcons!

The players recorded that song and gave a copy of it to the marketing department to play during warm ups. It was played at the Kent game like 15 mins after the gates opened. Contact the athletic office or the athletic marketing department to see if they could hook you up.

Thanks for the update. We need to find a way to get both Mahone and Brown on the field. They're both going to be really solid in the defensive backfield.

The old adage says "Defensive backs were wird receivers that couldn't catch the ball". I bring this up since we appear to have an excess of young DBs that we won't be able to get all on the field at once. Six of the eight on the two deep are true freshman, with the other two being true sophomores. Do you think we might try moving one or two of these guys back over to the offensive side to try to use all this talent?

Mahone and Brown sure looked like offensive studs in high school. I can't really complain too much though as I've long said I'd like to see some of this talent funneled to the defensive side of the ball.

I think Mahone and Brown were both RBs? If they were WRs, we sure could use them, but we seem to be pretty well set at RB. Our receivers are coming around as well. Ruiz is stepping up and Drob is always there if we would use him. Barnes is transitioning very well and Partridge is becoming the anchor we all knew he could be. Charles has a lot of potential once we decide to throw the ball down the field a bit. I feel OK about our receivers right now.

There was an older gentleman from Elyria sitting in front of me at the Wisconsin game that said he coached Mahone at some point. He said he was a really good wide receiver.

From the recruit highlight tape last year, Brown looked like a really solid RB, but it looks like Bullock has that position locked up. And based on his performance last weekend, I think Brown will be just fine at safety.

I specifically recall him leaving the field during the Buffalo game, his arm pretty much hanging at his side, which would tend to add credence to the stinger injury comments. And I'm pretty sure his dad said he'd have to miss the next 3 games, including OSU, before getting back into action.

While this type of injury can happen to any player, it seems to me to be more common among younger players (remember J.Haneline last year)...perhaps because they're physical developement isn't quite there yet?
