First off, I love getting back to campus. Definitely a treat for me and my family.
Here are some observations from the game and other odds-n-endz.
*Went to SBX to drop my customary monies. I now have seen the "new logo" on a sweatshirt. I officially don't like it. It reminds me of something and I just can't put my finger on it.

I had a couple of people surprised when I explained the new logo. They just couldn't seem to believe that we would get a new logo.
*I like the look of the stadium. Paint job on the railings was decent. New benches are awesome. The new scoreboard - sheesh that thing is big.
*Speaking of big. Omar. Hay-zues Christo! Being in the alumni band, I was right on the sidelines watching that boy warm up. I just kept shaking my head and sharing with everyone, "man, he's really a big boy, isn't he?" I liked his demeaner as well. Very calm. Very confident. He has a wonderful future ahead of him.
*Speaking of scoreboards, first game and already I was on camera. Sorry Delaine, but I was catching my mace so they went for me. I almost hit that guy a couple of time, however. I felt like a star! Did everyone like my ORANGE CHUCK TAYLOR HIGHTOPS? You couldn't see them on the screen, but I'm sure you could see me march out with them.
*Weather sucked and I couldn't hang on. I was prepared for most weather conditions. Unfortunately pants and subsequent layers were soon soaked through after the sleet hit.
I'm just getting over a small bought of the flu. I couldn't afford to get any more ill with my work week ahead. I bowed out right at the start of the second quarter. I wanted to see the entire game. I wanted to see halftime. I wanted to be there. I sent the wife and daughter off to the car right before the nasty stuff hit. I left fairly soon after that. I feel apologize to my fellow Falcon fans and the football team.
*When walking out, I was accompanied by a bunch of students who were ranting about the "ridiculous weather." No, the weather wasn't ridiculous, the fact that you only wore a hooded sweatshirt to the game is ridiculous.
*I like the band in the endzone. I didn't like sitting in the endzone, but having the band there is a better fit.
Thats about all.

yeah yeah we're rediculous for wearing sweatshirts... good grief we're in college let us all be dumb! I don't blame the weather. It wasn't bad with my sweatshirt and beer coat in full effect. What was bad was Ball St. What was dumb was cops taking flag poles from students. What was rediculous was the amount of students in attendance compared to the rest of the crowd. It seemed to me like we were the only ones who initally showed up. Cut us some slack for leaving early when many alums can't find the effort to show up.
Come on do the cops really have reasonable suspicion that i might use my flag criminally? (thats what they need to validate a seizure in ohio) I have a good record with it as i had it for the entire semo game without a problem. Why let me into a game with it just to take it away around kickoff time? I wasn't intruding on anyone's personal space with it... I went to all the effort of putting it together and carrying it out to the stadium from the manville area.. BG cops want a good wrap with the students yet they do some of the most pointless crap. Okay, done ranting.

It's not that they were ONLY wearing sweatshirts, but they were complaining of being cold because of the weather. That just jumped on a nerve.truth wrote:yeah yeah we're rediculous for wearing sweatshirts... good grief we're in college let us all be dumb! I don't blame the weather.
I'm disgusted at the attendance as well. I saw tons of students and was very pleased with that. I was and is ticked at the townies and alumns who would rather see OS-who lose than go see THEIR team win.
I wanted to stay away from my ire on this subject, but alas, I must vent away.

I shot a roll of pics at the game and as soon as I get the CD back, I'll send to Grant for updating.
Now back to work after 3 days off.
