The bar was great, everyone singing AZZ when we scored and cheering for the falcons. Everyone except a few BGHS football players sitting right behind us. These four or six guys were actively rooting for CMU the entire first quarter. Luckily for us they had to leave just after the first quarter ended so they didn't miss their bedtimes. Can anyone tell me what the deal is with some of the locals having so much disdain for the university?

They hate it cuz they grew up there. Forget the free beer they drink at our parties, and the college chicks they hit on. They just dislike BGSU because they grew up in BG and are probably trying to go to Ohio A&M. Not too mention they are just a few kids, that probably thought it was funny to ruffle some Falcon feathers tonight.... Go Falcons!

You answered your question with this statement. They're stupid high school kids. When I went to BGHS, there was always one or two clowns who tried to root against BGSU or even BGHS. Remember, they're 16 and 17 years old. Forget em.

We used to take a team trip to an Akron or Kent game every year from middle school on through high school, and never once did any of us root against either of those two schools.

Thanks for the great info. Right, YOU didn't root against those schools. It was a couple stupid HS kids. Who cares.
